Job Summary: Guardair Corporation is a market share-leading manufacturer of specialized products and accessories used by a wide-range of industrial end-users across North America. Guardair products are primarily sold through a network of over 500 national, regional, local, and web-based industrial wholesalers/distributors.
Goal: The Field Sales Representative (FSR) will be responsible for increasing sales within a designated geographic area and customer base. The FSR will work closely with Guardair's Marketing and Engineering teams to support the development of new markets. The representative will also educate end-users about the benefits and safety aspects of industrial cleaning with compressed air, introducing them to Guardair products that meet OSHA standards and can help reduce in-plant compressed air costs.
Responsibilities: This position has three (3) primary areas of responsibility:
1- Work With Distributor Partners
- Become a resource for national, regional, and local distributor sales representatives to provide valued-added products at end-user accounts
- Educate and collaborate with Distributor Safety Specialists to provide OSHA Compliance Audits to end-user accounts utilizing the Guardair OSHA Compliance Kit
- Educate and collaborate with Distributor Account Managers to provide Compressed Air Cost Savings Audits to end-user accounts
- Promote new product introductions
- Leverage the power of digital technology to perform virtual webinars and technical training
2- Provide Factory Support to End-Users
- At end-user facilities where compressed air is used for industrial cleaning
- Leverage the power of digital technology to perform virtual visits
- Make in-person visits where required
- Promote OSHA compliance to End-User Safety Professionals by performing OSHA Compliance Audits using the Guardair OSHA Compliance Kit
- Promote Compressed Air Savings to End-User Operations Professionals by performing Compressed Air Cost Savings Audits
- Document and report audit results; Make product recommendations
3 - Manage Small Distributor Accounts
- Communicate with and monitor small distributor sales activity
- Deploy cost-effective account coverage (on-site, or remote)
- Audit distributor websites and provide digital marketing content where needed
- Introduce new products and sales/marketing programs
- Provide product training as required
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Hold virtual seminars/webinars with distributor partners and/or end-users
- Do on-site seminars where required
- Provide logistical support; prepare, pack-up and ship tradeshow booth
- Set up and work national, regional and local trade shows
- Procure and follow-up sales leads
- Document Activities/Opportunities in CRM
- Ensure sales opportunities are documented and continually updated
- Maintain records of field visits and important correspondence
- Participate In New Product Development Process
- Submit new product ideas/improvements based upon end-user, distributor, and competitive feedback
- Create Voice of Customer opportunities for new product ideas
REPORTING:
- Reports directly to the Market Development Manager
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Highly computer literate including all facets of Microsoft Office
- Strong interpersonal skill set
- Business presentation experience a plus
- Experience with industrial distribution channel a plus
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Travel frequency dependent upon territory. Up to 2 weeks per month
- Local, Regional, and National travel
