Position Overview

MCF Security is looking for a Business Development Manager - Financial Services that is responsible for the company’s business in Canada eastern and western region. The role is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities and expanding the company’s sales force. The Business Development Manager work closely with the sales team and dealing representatives. Provide supports to the Sales team by arrange meetings, give trainings, provide updates and reviews for past, current and proposed investment portfolios to the Sales force. The Business Development Manager identifies and develops target sales channels and maintain relationships with them. The role is also responsible for ongoing development and management of marketing, communications and sales event initiatives to support the company growth. The perfect candidate is experienced in a sales, marketing or investor relations role, have proven records of success in sales communications, strong leadership, well organized, excellent communicator and process facilitator, and is flexible when responding to sales and marketing related requests.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities and help expanding the company’s investment sales force.
  • Work closely with the existing sales team to ensure the investors are satisfied with the services provided.
  • Identify target sales group or channel to expend the company’s sales team.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with targeted channels and existing sales force.
  • Provide regular updates to the sales team for their investor’s investment performances.
  • Respond inquiries from the sales team and support them for the maintenance of investor relationships.
  • Prepare and create marketing materials for road shows, client seminars and related events and activities.
  • Meet regularly with sales dealing representatives, receive feedback and report to senior managements with suggestions.
  • Give investment presentations to the sales team, including but not limited to KYP trainings, course trainings, general financial and investment knowledge trainings and financial/investment performance update sessions.
  • Coordinate road shows and similar events with investor, investment issuers and business partners, ensuring location and attendance are well organized and communicated.
  • Develop, manage and support onboarding and training activities and other needs including software and tools trainings for new employees in the sales team.
  • Manage business development, marketing and sales activities together with the sales team.

Experience & Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economic, or related fields.
  • A minimum of 0.5 - 2 years experience in sales, marketing, or investor relations related role in the financial service industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook) is a must.
  • Strong understanding of accounting and finance principles.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong inter-personal skills including listening and collect information from others and respond quickly based on the feedback.
  • Ability to give presentations to large number of audiences.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and lead a new team member.
  • Detail oriented and well organized, have excellent ability to react fast and solve complex problems in challenging situations.
  • Ability to juggle conflicting priorities, multitask effectively, and perform within tight timelines.
  • Ability to write and speak Chinese is a strong asset.
