Job Description

Overview:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing new sales leads within their territory and proactively growing business with existing clients. The position requires regular travel away from the branch office.

Responsibilities:
Manage Business Development activities across the assigned territory and Customer Target List.

· Partners with Account Managers (inside sales) to develop sales strategies to meet goals.

· Identifies new accounts, retains/develops, and expands opportunities/sales with existing clients.

· Represents The Company in client meetings with integrity, professionalism, and with expert knowledge of company products and services.

· Manages contract negotiations, quality complaints, product application, and design support, and introductions or referrals to other business units.

· Provides product samples and marketing materials to clients. May deliver orders to clients as needed.

· Partners with the client’s engineering staff for new product designs or sustaining engineering issues and opportunities.

· Works with internal engineering and procurement to respond to RFQs, and develop pricing strategies to meet client requests.

· Generates cold calling efforts to drive new account development/opportunities.

· Reports customer account, competition, and sales activities to PENCOM management.

· Meets or exceeds assigned metrics (New Customer Acquisitions, Sales Projects / Pipeline, and Sales Growth) with reports to Branch Managers.

· Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice by management.

Skills/Knowledge Required:

Proven working experience as a business development manager, sales executive, or a relevant role

· Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential

· Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task

· Excellent organizational skills and highly detailed

· Must have excellent phone and in-person sales presentation skills

· Able to manage competing priorities to meet client needs

· Ability to coach and mentor Account Managers toward achieving sales targets

· Proficiency with computer software including MS Office, Order Management System, etc.

· Valid driver's license is required

· Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing in English

The ideal candidate will have:·

- 2 - 5 years’ experience working in field sales (Hunter) o Experience in calling on OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) & CM (Contract Manufacturing) accounts (this is required)

-Mechanical component background is preferred

- Manufacturing Sales is preferred (custom parts)

- Distribution sales is preferred

- CNC Machine and or Sheet Metal Fabrication experience would be considered.

- Industries served are (but not limited to) Medical, Semiconductor, Telecom (etc.)

Pay: $71,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year
