Job Description

We acknowledge that Providence Health Care & the new St. Paul’s Hospital site is located on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkwəyəm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səlílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Analyst, Quality Assurance is responsible for reviewing and participating in data quality in order to maintain and improve the integrity of the transcribed document for lower mainland transcription services across Fraser Health, Providence Health Care, Provincial Health Services Authority and Vancouver Coastal Health (collectively, the “Organizations”). Performs random and daily audits on documents transcribed by the outsourced company. Reviews outcomes with the Service Manager in collaboration with the Analyst, Contract Optimization and BISS Contract Manager on an ongoing basis and provides recommendations which relate to removal of an external transcriptionist being removed from the health organizations work. Liaises with account managers at M*Modal to improve quality measures and outcomes.

What You Bring

Education
Graduation from a certified program in medical transcription or related to health care sciences and three (3) years of recent, related experience at an acute care facility, or an equivalent combination of education, training & experience.

Skills and Abilities

Thorough knowledge of the computerized transcription platforms as well as other software programs.

Demonstrated knowledge of Transcription standards and policy in a health care setting.

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Demonstrated ability to participate in the development and the implementation of new processes and procedures related to registration services in a health care setting.

Demonstrated ability to understand and clearly relate technical information and principles of operation to other members of the organization.

Ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team.

Ability to provide leadership, guidance and direction to staff.

Ability to organize, problem solve, prioritize and balance work.

Ability to operate related equipment, including computer software applications.

Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

What We Offer

Performs random & daily audits on reports produced by medical transcriptionists.

Corrects errors as required. Provides recommendations that will correct transcribing error trends including matters related to outsource medical transcriptionist performance.

In collaboration with the Service Manager and M*Modal Account Manager, develops and implements HIM Quality Assurance Program in conjunction with the M*Modal Quality Assurance Program and ensures that both align.

Develops and enhances the audit reports to provide the necessary feedback to the Service Manager and Analyst, Contract Optimization. Develops audit tools and reports to ensure quality and security of patient reports according to policy and government standards.

Liaises with other programs from all sites for the purposes of gathering information and communicating transcription issues and problem resolution.

Participates in establishing and preparing standards, procedures and instructions that contribute to the effectiveness of data quality of Transcription Services.

Participates in meetings and works on various projects as requested by the Regional Service Manager.

Performs other related duties as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $62,248.00-$89,477.00 per year
