Job Description
The Customer Service Unit within the CPG Billing Office of SFGH Medical Group is responsible for answering and responding to SFGH Medical Group Billing Office guarantor telephone calls, incoming correspondence responding to guarantor billing statements, follow-up on delinquent self-pay accounts, and responding to subpoenas and attorney requests for patient billing records.
Within the Customer Service Unit, the Patient Account Representative is responsible for responding to guarantor inquiries about their billing statement and account balance due.

Department Description
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or a GED and five years of experience, including two years of experience in collections investigation in a healthcare setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous work experience in a physician practice, large medical group billing office, or acute care facility business office working with guarantor accounts.
- Excellent verbal and written English communications skills
- Must have a pleasant and courteous telephone manner
- Must be reliable, dependable and must have an excellent attendance history
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluency in Spanish, or Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese)
- Associate degree or higher
- Previous work experience with EPIC professional billing
- Previous work experience that required knowledge of physician billing procedures
- Knowledge of Medi-Cal eligibility requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
