Job Summary:
50% Responsible for providing support for patient care by CVT's
- Restrain various domestic, exotic, and large animals
- Assist with premedication and induction of various species
- Assist with recovery and monitoring of post op patients
- Assist Veterinary Technicians and residents with case set-ups and clean up
- Monitors pre-op and post op patients and reports abnormal or concerning behavior
40% Responsible for maintaining and stocking pharmacy and CS supplies and cleanliness of anesthesia induction and recovery rooms
- Clean and disinfect equipment as needed
10% Participate in record keeping and billing
- Other tasks as assigned by the dept
Responsibilities:
Provides assistance during veterinary examinations and procedures, performs daily animal care duties, and maintains facility and inventory to ensure attainment of organization goals.- 20% Assists with and executes the preparation, completion, and documentation of basic technical animal care procedures, assessments, and medication administration according to established care plans and medical necessity
- 15% Cleans and maintains organization of animal holding spaces, work areas and equipment
- 10% Inventories and organizes supplies
- 10% Maintains organization of and updates records related to medical procedures and billing
- 15% Assists with routine laboratory tests and specimen collection according to established medical orders and care plans
- 10% Documents and disseminates results to the appropriate entities
- 5% Serves as a point of contact for animal owners and stakeholders providing information and answering questions
- 15% Support clinicians and CVTs in the anesthesia service with requested tasks
Tasks:
- Provide patient care and support duties as required by the service
- Support anesthesia faculty and staff as required by the service
- Work on-call shifts as required by the service and the hospital

Qualifications:
- Basic animal handling skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions
- Experience in a veterinary hospital setting or referral practice
Work Schedule:
Monday thru Friday 7:30AM-4:00PM with a 30 min unpaid lunch
Potential for on-call shifts as required by the hospital
Sign on bonus of 3-5% of base pay (based on FTE) to be paid quarterly over the first year of employment

Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs independently and physical/manual dexterity to perform specialized technical tasks.
