The Division Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) is Comet’s largest division and a global leader in developing and producing high-performance Vacuum Capacitors, RF Matches and RF Generators for the semiconductor industry.

Job Summary: We are seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join our Smart Manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for writing code modules, documenting the codebase, and implementing unit/integration tests. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a STEM-related field. Some software development experience in a professional setting is preferred. The candidate should have a strong understanding of algorithms and data structures, version control, TDD methodology, and the software design lifecycle. Professional experience with the following would be considered a big plus: Git, CI/CD tools {Containerization/Distribution}, C/C++/C#, Python {Pandas, NumPy, SciPy}, IoT {MQTT}, and LabVIEW.

What will you do?

  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code. Implement unit/integration tests to ensure code quality.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with team members to design and implement software solutions.
  • Document the codebase to ensure ease of maintenance and future development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and define requirements.
  • Continuously improve our internal tools to increase efficiency and/or productivity. Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in software development.

Who are we looking for?

  • BS degree in CS, CE, Software Engineering or a STEM-related field
  • 2 years professional software development experience or an internship
  • 2 years python experience {Should have a solid understanding of the language}
  • Strong understanding of Algorithms and Data Structures Strong understanding of BDD/TDD Methodology and the Software Design Lifecycle
  • Experience with Version Control {Git}
  • Experience with CI/CD Tools
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office ecosystem Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook

The target salary range for this job is approximately $48 -$55 per hour.

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $48.00 - $55.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
