GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Account Manager is an entry level sales management position that, with the partnership and guidance of the Sr. Account Executive, is responsible for delivering solutions and recommendations to gain sales growth. This position will work directly with internal product and category management teams to develop and implement sales strategies and initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identifies, evaluates, and responds effectively to competitive trends and activities.
Identifies the levers to profitably generate sales (product, pricing, promotion and placement) and identifies contingency plans to close sales plan gaps
Gathers program details and relevant insights for sales calls
Represents American Greetings in a professional manner and demonstrates Industry knowledge and category expertise
Effectively communicates in both written and verbal formats relevant information to customer and within American Greetings
Partners with internal departments to execute promotions and product programs.
Addresses day-to-day account needs such as communications, issue resolution and coordination between functional teams
Other duties as assigned/as project needs necessitate.

Experience Required:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
High level of interpersonal skills to build strong business relationships and manage associates.
Good organizational skills with attention to detail.
Strong PC skills including word processing and spreadsheet application.
Ability to work independently with little daily instruction.
Works with sense of urgency; results oriented and focuses on productivity vs activities
Consumer centric; anticipates and meets consumer needs and takes appropriate action without being prompted
Accepts responsibility for own actions
Operates with a growth mindset
Innovative; identifies effective, new ways of doing things
Able to clearly define purpose driven goals and the actions required to accomplish them
Required Length & Type of Experience:
1+ years of experience in sales or marketing
Previous experience as an Area Supervisor/Territory Sales Manager preferred
Previous experience in a retail or merchandising environment preferred
Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
