Position Description
Catamount Constructors, an industry-leading national general contractor, has an immediate opening for a Business Development Manager reporting to our San Antonio Commercial Division. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years' experience in the construction industry along with proven client relationship building success.
Summary: To develop and pursue leads in the commercial construction industry identifying new markets and working closely with the management team to define ideal targets for Catamount. This person must maintain appropriate contact with potential clients while continuing to build relationships through networking and participation in industry sales and marketing groups.
Essential Duties and Overall Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following, as other duties may be assigned:
- Prepares Go/No Go Forms for all New Projects
- Contact Management System
- Develop Business Development Plan with input from Management Team
- Perform Market Research
- Identify New Opportunities in Expanded Markets
- Define Ideal Targets with Management Team
- Update and Confirm Direction with Division President on a Weekly Basis
- Provide Update/Status Reports to Management Team on a Weekly Basis
- Pursue Leads generated by Office Personnel
- Relationship Building with Potential Clients (Meals, Events)
- Relationship Building through Networking & Prospecting Skills
- Maintain Contact with Potential & Existing Clients
- Serve as First Person Contact for Cold Calls
- Monitor and Measure Success of Hit Ratios on Prospects
- Willingness to travel out of state
- Able to solicit specific project information for Go/No Go Process
Collaboration with Marketing/Estimating
- Participate in Monthly Marketing Meetings
- Assist in Preparation of Proposals, Marketing Materials and/or Other Presentations
- Understands Estimating Capacity
Role Development & Growth
- Develops Project/Client Intelligence: Hierarchy, Decision Making Process, GC Selection, Background, and Presentation Information
- Adept at Listening to Customer and Discerning ‘Hot Buttons’
- Follow up After Bid/Pre-Con Efforts
- Visit Jobsites of Existing Projects to Deepen Understanding of Company
- Inform Project Team of Timing to Visit Jobsite
- Join Trade/Affiliation Groups (i.e., ICSC, NAIOP, CREW, SMPS, Economic Development organizations, Energy)
- Take Active Role/Join Committees for Trade/Affiliation Groups
- Attend Tradeshows
Position Requirements
Qualifications/Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, & Outlook, Business Development software, and Internet Explorer or other similar Internet tools and experience.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum 5 years’ experience in the construction industry.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
