Select Group Benefit Sales Representative- Trainee
Guardian is seeking a Group Benefits Select Market Sales Representative - Trainee who will be responsible for building and maintaining Select brokers and plan holder relationships to drive ongoing sales and retention of groups of 2-2,000 lives.
Success will be determined based on the ability to attain high levels of production through broker development and internal relationships. This role will report to the Regional Director within the assigned territory.
You Will:
  • Gain a thorough understanding of our complex business relationships within the brokerage community, our clients, Guardian’s Group Sales’ strategic vision and product line, especially absence products.
  • Support the general wellbeing of the broker and client relationship for the development and growth of Guardian sales and client retention.
  • Market, position, and sell Guardian’s entire Group Benefits portfolio products and technology solutions to your designated brokers in partnership with the Profit Center and Local Market strategy. This includes Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, Absence, and Supplemental Health products.
  • Understand territory dynamics to build, develop and maintain broker relationships to grow the book of business through sales of existing products and new products while representing Guardian’s vision to inspire well-being.
  • Be accountable for consistently achieving or exceeding personal sales production expectations by having a clear understanding of products and creating and implementing tactical sales strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to examine market trends and stay ahead of consumer demands.
  • Set-up new cases, participate in enrollment meetings and partner with enrollment team to create enrollment strategies.
  • Identify, recommend and champion process improvements and organizational initiatives to increase sales of product offerings.
  • Achieve required industry licensing within 90 days of date of hire and maintain license through completing Continuing Education requirements.
You Have:
  • A BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to consistently achieve or exceed personal sales production expectations established by management, as stated in the RGO business plan that is consistent with Group Profit Center objectives.

  • Collaborative team player with the ability to effectively build rapport in person and virtually both with internal teams and brokers.
  • Demonstrated ownership mindset with the ability to develop, sustain and deepen broker relationships independently.

  • Act with accountability to deliver on commitments with speed and quality.
Location and Travel Requirements:
  • Up to 25% travel within U.S.

Salary Range
$35,000

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
