Fame, an industry-leading financial aid software and services provider, is seeking a full-time Director of Sales & Marketing to join our fast-paced sales team. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, confident individual with a strong work ethic, and a proven track record in sales.

At Fame, we're on a mission to expand our reach and deepen our impact within higher education. We are seeking a highly motivated Director of Sales & Marketing to lead our sales and marketing efforts, focusing on expanding our market presence and driving organic growth. Reporting to the CEO, this role involves managing multiple teams and working closely with Fame leadership to develop and execute a robust sales and marketing strategy. This position may require frequent travel to engage with prospects and attend conferences, as well as the ability to deliver presentations and demonstrate our software solutions both online and onsite.


RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director of Sales & Marketing will report to the General Manager, and have the following responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of sales and marketing professionals, ensuring they manage and expand existing customer relationships and pursue new prospects effectively.
  • Develop and govern the execution of sales and marketing strategies that align with company targets and industry trends.
  • Direct the team in articulating and delivering Fame's unique value propositions to both current customers and prospects.
  • Manage sales discipline across the team, including account and opportunity planning, CRM activities, and consistent forecasting.
  • Direct and govern the Marketing Manager to execute marketing plans that support the sales and growth objectives.
  • Assist the sales team in navigating effective sales cycles and provide expert advice and support to close deals.
  • Establish and maintain high-level executive contacts with existing and prospective clients.
  • Measure team performance using specific metrics such as bookings, sales funnel growth, funnel composition, SQLs, MQLs, conversion rates, and net promoter scores.
  • Create and maintain a high-performance culture focused on winning new business and expanding current client engagements.


EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Proven leadership abilities and a track record of managing sales teams in technology and B2B settings.
  • Strong capability in strategic planning, team management, and executing growth initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a knack for persuasive presentations and stakeholder management.
  • Experience with value-based sales methodologies and a history of effectively implementing these techniques across sales and marketing teams.
  • Adept at data analysis, with the ability to drive team performance and strategic decisions through metrics and insights.
  • Ability to travel to meet prospects, attend conferences, and engage with teams and clients.
