Overview

The Manager of Technology Systems oversees the day-to-day operations of all Digital Harbor Foundation platforms and software systems, helps implement and maintain all technology policies and procedures, and provides critical first-line technology support to team members. This position works across multiple teams in the organization to ensure all employees are able to effectively leverage technology to achieve their goals and objectives. Moreover, this role is critical to ensuring that all of Digital Harbor’s technology systems are up-to-date, secure, and appropriately managed.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • 4+ years experience in a relevant role such as information security, systems administration, or information technology administration
  • Salesforce administration or Salesforce business analyst experience required
  • Systems administration, device management, and MDM administration experience strongly preferred
  • Experience training and supporting users with applications preferred
  • Experience with website development and maintenance preferred but not required
  • A Bachelor’s in computer science or related field is preferred but not required

  • Strong knowledge of IT best practices, policies, and regulations
  • Understanding of current technology trends and a desire for continuous learning

  • Superb written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to successfully work independently, including managing multiple projects and deadlines and proactively identifying and completing tasks

  • Proficient in most of the following systems and platforms:
    • Google Workspace administration and Google Suite applications
    • Microsoft 365 tenant administration and Microsoft Office applications
    • Public cloud infrastructure platforms, such as AWS, GCP, and Microsoft Azure
    • WordPress and Webflow
    • Salesforce
    • Notion
    • Asana
    • 1Password or other comparable password management platforms
    • Slack

Additional Notes

This is a part-time, remote position. Candidates for this position can expect to work 25 hours per week.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of Digital Harbor Foundation technology infrastructure and platforms, including:
    • System Management: Assist users in installing and upgrading software systems. Manage updates for required cloud-based platforms such as hosted WordPress accounts. Manage Digital Harbor’s Microsoft 365 tenant and Google Workspace instance, including security policies, application settings, and user directory.
    • Security: Assist the Chief Technology Officer in implementing technology security policies and procedures across the organization.
    • Troubleshooting: Provide first-line troubleshooting support for all employees. This includes troubleshooting both software and hardware issues.
    • Fleet Management: Purchase and manage Digital Harbor’s inventory of employee devices. Select and deploy a mobile device management (MDM) solution along with appropriate device-level policies. Build and implement a standard machine image and work with Digital Harbor’s device provider to image all new devices.
    • Onboarding & Offboarding: Support technology onboarding and offboarding for all employees, including provisioning new devices, supporting new employees with device and software setup, and retrieving and de-provisioning the devices of departing employees.
    • User management: Manage users in all software platforms and implement and monitor user policies and permissions.
    • Training: In coordination with the Chief Technology Officer, design and deliver targeted training to staff on topics related to Digital Harbor’s software stack.
    • Documentation: Create and manage appropriate documentation for various technology systems and platforms.
    • Administration: Manage various administrative responsibilities related to platforms and systems, including platform billing, renegotiating contracts, and maintaining relationships with vendors.
  • Manage Digital Harbor’s Salesforce instance, including day-to-day administration needs, responding to reporting requests from teams, adapting layouts, and managing custom objects and integrations.
  • Working in coordination with a web developer, support internal teams in developing and maintaining their website and web strategy.
  • Support the Chief Technology Officer in building and implementing internal systems and platforms to meet the needs of various teams.
  • Collect the experience of end-users to inform the update and management of existing systems as well as the selection, design, and deployment of new systems.
  • Support the Chief Technology Officer in building and delivering comprehensive training on all Digital Harbor Foundation platforms.
  • Advise on identifying, purchasing, and implementing new technologies and hardware.

Compensation

Compensation for this full-time position is $50,000 to $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
