Role Purpose
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an CNC Programmer/Machinist with Terracon Solutions (a ChargePoint Technology Company).
This role is the perfect opportunity for the right candidate to be an integral part of the Operations team and being instrumental in driving Terracon's growth. Working within the Terracon team in Franklin, MA and reporting into the Operations Team Leader, this position will be working with Production, Estimating, Procurement and Sales operations in both North America and overseas. For the right candidate, the role will have opportunities for career progression and development in line with ChargePoint’s strategy in building a Life Science platform company.
We are looking for a multi-disciplined candidate with experience in programming and operating mid-sized CNC routers. The role will require innovative thought and flexibility to complete tasks within deadlines required in a fast-moving production environment. The role will facilitate efficient operations within the production area, and aid product development with knowledge and application of Design For Manufacturing (DFM) principals.
Working in a wide range of engineering plastics including polypropylene, polyethylene, polycarbonate, and PEEK producing products for Terracon Corporation, the successful candidate will be a real team player who is capable of working on their own initiative, demonstrating a methodical approach to their working environment. Excellent time management and communication skills are required to balance priorities and schedule machining jobs in accordance with production requirements.
Main Duties
- Programming of CNC routed products on EnRoute software
- Setup of MultiCAM 5000 Series CNC router, to include toolpaths, nesting and material yield
- Prove-out and operation of production and development jobs on MultiCAM 5000 Series CNC router
Secondary Duties
- Setup of Doosan Lynx 2100LY turning center, including static and live tooling
- Prove-out and operation of production and development jobs on Doosan Lynx 2100LY turning center
Essential
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in setting and operating in a relevant manufacturing environment.
- A good understanding of CAM software in a routing (or equivalent) application
- Ability to efficiently nest parts to maximise material yield
- Cost estimating and calculation experience for development and production machining
- Ability to convert templates and drawings into machining files for production
- Experience with CAD, ideally SolidWorks
- Experienced working with general arrangements drawings, part drawings, fabrication drawings, BOM drawing, flat sheet stock/sheet metal and weldments
Desirable
- Experienced in programming using EnRoute CAM software
- Knowledge and experience of machining engineering plastics
- Knowledge and experience of programming, setting and operating Fanuc controlled CNC lathes
