Duties/Responsibilities:
- Recommend products to customers based on their needs.
- Conduct cold and warm calls.
- Customer relationship management (CRM) tracking.
- Assess customer quotes by analyzing required documents, architectural door schedules, floor plans, and project plans.
- Comprehend architectural door schedules to independently detail hardware.
- Complete quote submittal process after customer bid has been accepted and PO or letter of intent received.
- Work with customers to revise quote submittal as necessary, send confirmation to the customer.
- Follow up with customers on open orders, track customer order shipment status and work with Customer Support to resolve order issues.
- Partner with Sales on opportunities requiring technical expertise within segments and territories.
- Proactively develop and maintain relationships with customers to seek future opportunities and grow sales.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through timely response and positive customer interactions by communicating via phone and email and responding to customer inquiries regarding products, services, price, and availability.
- Understanding customers' needs and identifying sales opportunities.
- Answering potential customers' questions and sending additional information per email.
- Creating and maintaining a database of current and potential customers.
- Staying informed about competing products and services.
- Closing sales and achieving sales targets.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Familiar with ANSI Standards, Life Safety Code, and NFPA as they apply to doors, frames, and hardware preferred.
- High school diploma/GED.
- Previous experience in a related sales position preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software preferred.
- Communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Phone and cold calling skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Strong listening skills.
- Ability to achieve targets.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma/GED; Associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3+ years experience in project quoting/estimating, preferably in the manual door and hardware industry
- 3+ years experience in the door hardware and/or storefront fabrication industry; strong technical door hardware knowledge
