Your Responsibilities
  • Understands and performs marketing services to provide the broadest and most competitive quality product for surety clients.
  • Understands the overall business, operations, and surety needs of clients anticipating when and how to respond.
  • Develops and maintains dependable working relationships with carriers and other providers.
  • Understands and keeps informed on surety industry development and products.
  • Coordinates market selection for new and renewal business, and maintains communication among producer, client, carrier, and other individuals as needed.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with clients to provide the best possible service and demonstrates ability to instill confidence and comfort with clients so that client looks to you and Lockton as a partner.
  • Ability to compile, analyze, and interpret complex financial information to facilitate decision making.
  • Makes formal presentations to client decision makers.
  • Coordinates the servicing efforts to provide maximum service to clients.
  • Advocate of the client and steward to the surety industry.
  • Leadership of the department and team.
  • Provides information concerning surety underwriting, techniques, requirements and product availability to production staff and other associates to enhance their working knowledge of the surety industry.
  • Attends staff meetings, department meetings, educational workshops, conventions, carrier functions, industry and trade meetings, and social functions.
  • May assist in client account collection efforts.
  • Is a role model to all associates in the areas of positive attitude and performance.
  • Understands when circumstance require persuasion, conciliation, gentleness, assertiveness, or other approach and reacts appropriately.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or other business related field; or equivalent education and work experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of surety experience.
  • Firm working knowledge of surety business with experience in servicing large contract and/or commercial surety accounts including oil and gas.
  • Ability to make decisions in compliance with established department standards.
  • Demonstrates professional and tactful negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to expand knowledge and effectiveness in the surety industry by successful completion of extended education beyond continuing education requirements for licensing.
  • Personal presence to interface with top management of other businesses, in both one-on-one and group situations, representing Lockton in the highest professional manner.
  • Ability to travel by automobile or aircraft and to stay for more than one day
  • Simultaneous task completion with requirement for making numerous and rapid task decisions with limited information within time restraints in compliance with department standards.
  • Organizational and time management skills to prioritize heavy workloads and meet time sensitive deadlines.
  • Current valid insurance license.
