Job Description

LabX Media Group is hiring an Account Executive to join the Separation Science brand’s sales team. This position will support a rapidly growing and established territory within the US, with significant new account growth potential.


The successful candidate is someone who thrives on new opportunities and holds experience with digital advertising or media sales. If you are a driven sales professional and have a passion for digital platforms and web-based products this role is for you.


The Separation Science sales team is responsible for achieving revenue targets by maintaining long-lasting relationships with our existing customer base and developing new customer accounts. Specific measurements include service levels, customer satisfaction, customer product mix, competitive set, trade show attendance, and new business acquisition.


The Account Executive will develop digital media programs that connect analytical chemistry product vendors (mass spec, chromatography, etc.) with the analytical chemistry research buying team including, but not limited to: researchers, lab directors/managers, and principal investigators working in academia and pharma/biotech company labs. Separation Science works with professional analytical chemistry marketers and business owners to identify their marketing needs and develop custom advertising packages that secure business through a consultative and relationship sale. Scientific, B2B or technical sales experience is a plus but not required if you are willing to learn and pick things up quickly.


Responsibilities:

  • Initiate and maintain contact with clients, perform outbound calls to proactively develop a specified customer base, and prospect incremental business in order to attain growth objectives
  • Focus on attaining monthly sales goals, and customer communication (“success”) while maintaining and expanding the program mix and customer base
  • Advise clients on advertising or sales promotion strategies
  • Communicate special offers, promotions, and new advertising vehicles to customers
  • Develop and organize meetings, prepare, and attend tradeshows/events/seminars to enhance client relationships
  • Compile reports to the sales director regarding goals achieved, target accounts, and meetings held
  • Assess characteristics of products or services and advise on the advertising needs/analysis of the competitive landscape
  • Prepare or oversee the preparation of reports, briefs, statistics, presentations
  • Work closely with the fulfillment team to execute customer programs
  • Review client success and ensure programs are meeting or exceeding client expectations
  • Generate accurate monthly forecasts to guide strategic account planning
  • Identify opportunities to grow customer programs based on their changing needs and new product launches
  • Organize territory sales operations, territory size will be approximately $600,000 to $700,000 with room to grow!

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Advertising, Sales or a related field; additionally a science degree is also considered an asset
  • 3+ years of experience in sales and marketing, advertisement experience is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, including professional correspondence over the phone and email and a high attention to detail
  • Experience with CRM systems and skilled at leveraging data-driven insights to optimize sales strategies; we use Sugar CRM
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Experience with pricing strategies and large-scale negotiations
  • Knowledge of various science and/or laboratory equipment is an asset, but not required
  • The ideal candidate will be hard-working, positive, goal-oriented, analytical, detailed, and organized

Travel:


  • Travel in the US is required to visit clients within the sales territory and attend industry trade shows throughout the US. More or less travel may be required depending on the candidate’s geographic location and changing territory needs and opportunities.
  • A passport is not a pre-requisite for application but will be eventually required for periodic travel.

Compensation Range: Total Compensation range of On Target Earnings is in the $70,000 to $100,000 CAD range
