Overview

We are seeking a Solutions Consultant to join our Sales team. This position will work closely with our Sales team and sales leaders to streamline pre-sales scoping, documentation and IT consulting for customers. This role will display excellent communication, organization, attention to detail, and customer-facing communication working cross-functionally as a resource to help us win deals and drive retention post-sales.

This role will also be integral to product strategy by delivering insights into prospective customer needs and roadblocks for sales.

What You'll Do

  • You will be the technical resource for sales calls and questions, on both an ad-hoc basis and formally, to consult with customers to win more deals at a higher velocity. This will involve:
    • Technical leader: be the subject matter expert on Electric's platform and articulate the value and benefits to customers throughout the sales process
    • Objection handling: overcome objections especially when it comes to technical challenges
    • Tech stack reviews and validation
  • Familiarity with security solutions such as the ones below in order to answer customer questions and articulate value in the pre sale process:
    • Application Migrations and Deployments (Keeper, etc.)
    • Multi-Factor Authentication
    • SSO/SAML Deployments (Azure, Okta, JumpCloud, Google Cloud Identity, etc.)
    • DNS including SPF/DKIM
    • Backup & Recovery Solutions (Datto, Acronis, CrashPlan, etc.)
    • Basic Networking Familiarity (Perimeter81)
    • Email Spam Solution Configuration & Deployment
    • Endpoint Detection & Response Configuration & Deployment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of on-premise and cloud IT infrastructure including but not limited to network infrastructure, server infrastructure, active directories
  • Problem solve and overcome technical hurdles for sales opportunities
  • Exemplary communication with customers including but not limited to the following:
    • Ensuring that all customer requests for follow-up and documentation are responded to in a timely manner
    • Thorough technical understanding of IT services offering as it relates to Electric's product to ensure that Electric can identify and execute customer needs
    • Able to communicate directly and develop rapport to help build confidence in Electric's offering
    • Ability to leverage cross-departmental resources to deliver on customer needs and requests
    • Constant improvement of customer-facing documentation, procedures and templates used to engage with customers
  • Document workflows that are commonly asked about so that can be used by the sales team rather than having a Sales Engineer on all calls
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Support, Customer Success and other teams to improve workflows and implement customer feedback
  • Be the liaison between technical, sales and sales leadership teams

Who You Are

  • 3-5 years of IT, Project, or Solutions/Sales Engineering experience, MSP Environment preferred
  • 2+ years working in a client-facing environment
  • Proven experience working cross-functionally
  • Demonstrated ability to think outside of the box and build custom solutions
  • Ability to manage and motivate teams both within and outside of the reporting structure
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and issues in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to perform ongoing analysis and surveying

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to review systems and cloud-based applications to make actionable insights and recommendations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IT security frameworks particularly:
    • Ability to understand compliance frameworks including but not limited to HIPAA, SOC2, GDPR, ISO, PCI, etc
    • Effective communication of Electric security controls, information security policies
    • Ability to translate customer needs and requests to make actionable insights and recommendations relating to security

We are headquartered in NYC, with an office in Denton, TX and remote locations across 24 states. Our largest markets outside of the Tri-State area and Dallas-Fort Worth area are San Diego, Denver, Raleigh. We embrace a hybrid culture and offer opportunities throughout the year for folks to get together in regional markets or at HQ. With a widely distributed team, we are used to working remotely across different time zones.
