Become a part of The Kamstrup North American Sales Team

Kamstrup is a Danish technology company and one of the world’s leading manufacturers of intelligent water metering solutions. We are experiencing significant demand for our products and are focused massively on the development and production of intelligent metering equipment and systems for energy and water consumption. Therefore, we are looking for a Director Distribution Sales East to join the Kamstrup US Sales Team in Cumming, GA to aid Kamstrup’s rapid growth in North America.

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales, North America, the Director Distribution Sales East will be responsible for directing and overseeing the organization's sales policies, objectives, and initiatives with the ability to set short- and long-term sales strategies and evaluate effectiveness of current sales programs. The Director Distribution Sales East will also recommend products or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential.

The Director Distribution Sales East will also lead and direct the work of the Distribution Sales team, understanding the customer’s motivation to buy and knowing how to tap into those needs and desires in an effective manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team.
  • Managing organizational sales objectives that covers sales activity and expense controls.
  • Setting individual sales targets with the sales team.
  • Tracking sales goals and reporting results (as necessary) to the Senior Director of Sales.
  • Overseeing the activities and performance of the sales team.
  • Coordinating with marketing on lead generation.
  • Managing the bids and proposals process for the region.
  • Assuring the on-going training of the sales team.
  • Developing the sales team through motivation, counseling, and product knowledge education.
  • Understand the marketplace and how our ideal focus customers relate to our products and services.
  • Supporting the Distribution Sales team with business development/execution to achieve objectives.
  • Keeping current with production capabilities, trends, and competitor activity.
  • Manage, coach, and motivate the sales force to develop their skills to 1) ensure that a high professional standard is achieved and 2) monthly sales and KPI targets are met.
  • Assess the strengths and weaknesses of the sales team.
  • Continually assess current business distribution channels, develop, and evaluate their performance and manage conflict ensuring alignment with territory plans.
  • Up to 75% of travel is anticipated.

PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND EDUCATION

  • BS Degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Experience in lieu of education will be considered.
  • MS Software proficiency.
  • Experience with Miller Heiman, SPIN, selling or other sales strategies.
  • Formulate strategies for maximizing Kamstrup’s sales potential.
  • Sales leadership experience with the capacity to lead and inspire people.
  • Develop exceptional knowledge of the account and being well versed in the account’s problems, goals, needs and issues.
  • Suggest actions to improve sales performance and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Build strong relationships with the account’s stakeholders.
  • Position Kamstrup for sales opportunities by influencing specifications.
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching, and people management skills.
  • Report on the status of accounts and transactions.
  • Set and track sales account target activity (e.g., quarterly sales results and annual forecasts).
  • Facilitating contract negotiations.
  • Good understanding of the water measurement market and the lengthy sales process involved with utility providers and municipalities.
  • Confident ability to have C-Suite conversations and provide well written executive summaries.
  • Display a team oriented, winning attitude focused on creating value for the customer.
