What the role entails

  • Create & execute an approved business plan for the region.
  • Promote ACO BD Products to all relevant stakeholders within the territory including property owners/corporations/public agencies, specifiers, GC’s, installing contractors, distributors, and maintenance/retrofit contractors. Manufacturers Rep management & training may also be required in more remote geographies.
  • Pursue project specifications, quotes, or inquiries from various customers with the aim to close orders for ACO Building Drainage products on that particular project or line of inquiry.
  • Reviews various lead sources for ACO Building Drainage products, identify possible drain opportunities, switch if competitor is written into specification.
  • Identify the lead (who, what, where) and contact representation agency to discuss.
  • Target new business opportunities with the inside sales team to build a substantial project pipeline.
  • Maintain Sales Management System (SMS/Dynamics) by entering accurate data and relevant information into MCE’s, APIs, and PDI’s along with follow up information.
  • Train and manage Manufacturer’s Reps or showroom/wholesale accounts who assist ACO to sell product in territory.
  • Search using available tools (Google, GOVWIN, CMD, Reed, and LinkedIn) for opportunities and contacts.
  • Assist Specifiers (Architects/Engineers) & Corporate Decision Makers to specify/ID ACO Products as a standard.
  • Attend and set up lunch and learns and trade shows as required.
  • Travel is required.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, science or other related discipline. Bachelor’s degree with focus on specification/construction and/or business is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years previous outside sales experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Travel

70 % - Travel daily (day trips) by car combined with some overnight travel (by plane) when necessary.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the level of knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as simple construction drawings, blueprints, or requests for proposals. Develop the ability to write professional correspondence, ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Should possess the ability to compute percentages, discounts & margins.
  • Intermediate Microsoft professional programs, Excel, Word, Power Point & Others
  • Proficient use of video conferencing equipment
  • Excellent punctuation, grammar, and spelling
  • Professional phone manners

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Ability to travel daily and spend most of the day in a vehicle.
  • Valid driver’s license and no major driving violations
  • Ability to operate a computer for 1-2 hours per day.
  • Ability to lift product up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and bend frequently daily.

$75,000-85,000 per year plus commissions
