Job Description

Seeking a client-focused and detail-oriented Senior Purchasing Buyer with excellent oral and written communication skills. This position requires: daily processing of purchase requisitions, stock, managing inventory, working with vendors & customers, along with Operations & Quality Control teams. Responsibilities will also include administrative duties, data entry, maintaining daily reports, and logbooks.

Essential Functions:
  • Verifies bills from suppliers with bids and purchase orders and approves bills for payment
  • Manages all supplier-related activities and authority to commit company resources; forecast data, monitor and address supplier quality and delivery performance; track internal demand and material assets to optimize purchase
  • Check requisitions for completeness and clarity; obtaining mission information where necessary
  • Prepare Purchase Orders and review for accuracy before issuing
  • Obtain price quotes and analyze in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Work with vendors to ensure that products are delivered according to schedule
  • Monitors and administrates activities involved in the procurement of goods and services
  • Purchase materials and services as needed
  • Investigate issues related to orders (returns, back orders, missing items, damage, etc)
  • Acts as facilitator between purchasing, sales, operations team, and other departments.
  • Complete general clerical duties, including documentation of work in help desk ticket and requisition systems
  • Engage suppliers strategically
  • Prepare RFQ's to obtain competitive bids from approved sources
  • Control operating cash flow
  • Assists teams with continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Must have ability to take initiative, multi-task, work well under pressure and drive change as needed
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Business Administration
  • 10 years of related Purchasing Buyer experience or training in the manufacturing industry
  • Highly skilled & proficient in Microsoft Office & Office 365 (Cloud based server), specifically Excel, Word, Project, Power Point, Outlook, and other computer programs
  • Must have ability to manage, organize, and perform multiple tasks concurrently
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
