Position Summary
As a Technical Sales Engineer you will be in a customer facing position tasked with delivering a unified vision of the value of our products to the prospective customer. The role involves translating and explaining highly complex technical information to those prospective customers, focusing on revealing how our products can solve their specific problems. To achieve this, you will apply your expertise for nodal power markets and Yes Energy products to provide technical sales demonstrations to prospective customers as well as market relevant content to the Marketing team.
To succeed in this role you will need to go beyond rattling off the features of the products and instead understand in detail the job of the prospective customer and how our products can serve those needs directly. You will have a knack for understanding their world and how our products fit into it.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work will the Sales staff to qualify prospective customers in order to provide tailored sales demonstrations and guide them toward the right product(s) to solve their unique needs
- Work with Product and Marketing to formalize the key value propositions of each of the Yes Energy products
- Work with Product and Marketing to define and understand the key personas that make up our target markets
- Maintain up to date awareness of new product and market developments
- Coordinate with Customer Success team to facilitate smooth transitions for customers when moving from prospect to new customer
- When appropriate the position will require a minimum of 25 - 30% travel to customer sites to learn from customers, support the product, and provide technical sales of the product
- Provide subject matter expertise on product use cases and market knowledge for internal training
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Computer Science or a related technical field - or equivalent work experience
- Working knowledge of North American nodal power markets
- A minimum of 2-5 years experience in a customer facing role
- Comfortable providing technical presentations to audiences of various sizes
Burning desire to learn (and keep learning) Yes Energy’s product suite and the markets we serve
What will set you apart from other candidates:
- Experience using technical tools like Excel, SQL, BI Tools, Python, etc to perform data analysis
- Direct participation in North American nodal power markets
Prior experience using the Yes Energy product suite as an employee or a customer

Compensation and Benefits
Compensation Range: $100,000 - $130,000 base + commission
In accordance with Colorado law, the range provided is Yes Energy’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as location, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
