FAME an industry-leading financial aid software and services provider, is seeking a full-time Business Development Manager to join our fast-paced sales team. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, confident individual with a strong work ethic and a proven track record in sales.

This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, relationship building, and a results-driven approach to growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Business Development Manager will report to the General Manager, and have the following responsibilities:

  • Identify and research potential new clients within existing markets and new markets to determine where new growth opportunity exists.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and competitive landscapes.
  • Determine appropriate budget and resources required to pursue new customers/markets.
  • Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for new customers and markets in order to meet or exceed growth targets.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, decision-makers, and potential partners within targeted markets/industries.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and product development teams to ensure a cohesive approach to outreach efforts, market expansion and required product offerings.
  • Lead the development of proposals and presentations for new business materials to create and nurture business opportunities and partnerships.
  • Establish and manage the end-to-end sales process from lead generation to closure, for any newly entered markets, ensuring a smooth transition of new clients to the account management team.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking events to build relationships and find new business opportunities.
  • Provide regular updates to the company's leadership on GTM strategy, including market trends, competitive threats, and opportunities to deliver growth and greater value to our clients.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as a Business Development Manager or similar role, with a track record of researching, sourcing new business and securing that business in order to meet or exceed targets.
  • Strong understanding of sales principles and ability to deliver excellent customer experience.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data, understand trends, and develop recommendations for action based on the analysis.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, with a knack for building rapport with potential clients and partners.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with all levels of management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field; MBA or equivalent is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and tools.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events.
