THE OPPORTUNITY
Ambipar Response is currently seeking a Business Development Manager based out of Calgary, Alberta. This role is focused on driving company growth by developing new business opportunities, forming strategic partnerships, managing key client relationships, and leading the Business Development team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct research to understand market trends, emerging industries, and competitor activities.
- Identify and target potential new markets, clients, and partnership opportunities.
- Assess potential client needs and align solutions to fit these requirements.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with potential and existing clients.
- Meet with clients regularly to understand their needs, challenges, and goals.
- Act as the main point of contact for key clients and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
- Develop and refine strategies for entering new markets and expanding in current ones.
- Collaborate with management to align strategies with company objectives.
- Set goals for growth and success metrics to measure performance.
- Set and work to meet or exceed sales targets and revenue goals.
- Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities with existing clients.
- Support the business development team in generating leads, closing deals, and achieving targets.
- Facilitate weekly business development meetings to review pipelines and discuss strategies.
- Prepare and present proposals, pricing structures, and contracts.
- Negotiate terms and agreements to ensure mutual benefits for the company and client.
- Prepare regular sales forecasts and business development reports for management.
- Track pipeline activity, conversion rates, and growth metrics.
- Attend conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote the company.
- Build connections with potential clients and industry partners.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and share insights with the team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field (e.g., account management, consulting).
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a management or leadership role
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and business development targets.
- Experience in the specific industry or sector the company operates in (often specified if the role requires niche knowledge).
- Strong skills in prospecting, sales pitching, closing deals, and negotiating contracts.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Ability to identify opportunities, think critically, and develop growth strategies.
- Proficiency in analyzing market trends, competition, and customer needs.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for presentations, proposals, and reporting.
- Strong time management, ability to prioritize, and manage multiple client accounts or projects.
- Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and MS Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentations.
