JOB SUMMARY |
The Business Development Manager will work on developing and implementing initiatives and programs alongside the VP of Business Development to gain new business opportunities within the ICI and Residential construction and design industry. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, networking professional, independent, creative, team player, and someone who is driven to succeed.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Develop business initiatives, opportunities and programs that generate and maintain business
- Represent and present the Arguson brand for business development purposes, sell the company vision, business, culture and value proposition
- Develop initiatives, growth strategies and plans to meet business goals for Arguson and its’ subsidiaries
- Increase the company client base and generate new leads, while maintaining customer relations with current clients
- Establish procedures and methodologies to ensure client satisfaction and retention
- Follow, research and make recommendations based on industry trends and best practices and stay up-to-date on current trends
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the business, capabilities, strengths, services, value proposition and unique selling points
- Prepare and maintain internal business development documentation, hold internal business development meetings as directed, manage activities, and networks.
- Produce business proposals that reflect the business appropriately and address the client requirements
- Negotiate with stakeholders whether internal or external
- Identify customer needs and provide the appropriate business response
- Research business opportunities and other potential viable income streams
- Use client relationships to ensure continuation of business opportunities and help with problem solving
- Implement, update and manage systems for tracking of leads, reporting on potential leads and opportunities
- Report successes and areas needing improvements
- Liaise with other departments, estimating and Project Management to establish and set expectations for client service
- Effectively deal with conflict resolution to maintain client relationships
- Work with managers to assist in developing staff with respect to managing customer relationships and developing business
- Provide other duties as requested and required
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS |
- University or College Degree in business or marketing or equivalent amount of experience in the role
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, AND TECHNICAL SKILLS |
- Minimum 5 years of business development experience, preferable in the construction, project management, commercial real estate, or similar.
- High-level of communication and proven negotiation skills
- Stakeholder management skills
- Experience with design and implementation of business development strategy
- Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards and their impact on business activities
- Experience with CRM software an asset
- General knowledge of social media, marketing and other resources required for business development
- Knowledgeable in both the leasing and real estate arenas. Development knowledge an asset.
- Proficient computer skills in MS products
- Experience working to and exceeding targets
- Ability to travel as necessary within Canada and the USA

Salary: $110,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
