INSIDE SALES CONSULTANT

Position Description:
This position is an entry-level position responsible for answering the residential sales phone line during business hours, and for routing other incoming calls appropriately. The Inside sales consultant also fields web form submittals for all inbound leads and answers basic questions from all sources, including:
· The PSS website
· Main office phone line
· Yelp
· Other lead providers
· Tabling and other events
For residential solar leads, the inside salesperson vets the site briefly via aerial imagery, qualifies the homeowner via a checklist of questions, obtains the information necessary to build a lead, and inputs the lead into our CRM/project management database (Salesforce). All detailed questions will be handled by Outside sales.
This position also will assist the commercial, service & EVSE sectors by placing the client in the proper queue and/or assigning the proper owner.
Secondarily, this position will perform preliminary system designs for incoming leads in the design queue. This training will be ongoing, and this position is a backup to our primary Residential Designer/Outside Sales Consultants.
Hours: Full time. Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm
Remote Work: After 6mos by manager approval
Compensation: Salary + profit sharing
Immediate Supervisor: Residential Sales Manager
Major areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:
· Interfacing with potential clients (leads), and building rapport
· Understanding and obtaining the requisite information for a variety of sites and situations
· Contacting all new leads as soon as possible after initial outreach
· Inputting the job information & data collected accurately into the CRM (Salesforce)
· Ensuring the new lead is moved to the correct stage at the appropriate time
· Answering all calls that go to the main sales line. These run the gamut of different origins.
· Dividing the leads equitably between all Outside Sales Consultants
· Upkeep of the Inside Sales Guide
· Assisting with lead mining projects
· Creating preliminary quotes using solar and other software (Nearmap, Aurora, Excel) after training and experience.
Specific Responsibilities of the Job:
Interfacing with potential clients
· Follow up all customer inquiries with a phone call and/or email. Perhaps many times.
· Take detailed notes from all customer interactions.
· Accurately input all data into the CRM (Salesforce).
· Obtain & upload copies of the customer electric bill and photos of the electric panel.
· Respond to misc. calls. A lot of calls come through the sales line. This position will be
responsible for fielding & distributing them. This will range from shutting the door on
telemarketers to forwarding the call to the appropriate departments.
· Web form & Yelp leads must be responded to as fast as possible with a target time.
· Understand what makes a solar site excellent, good, marginal, or unsuitable - including shading,
orientation and roof type.
Residential system design:
Use solar software to complete a 3D model of the target roof, run a shade report, and create a preliminary quote using company provided tools. This includes:
· Site analysis: identify site constraints (shade, roofing type)
· Site construction: drawing the roof surfaces using solar software (Aurora)
· Site goals: Calculate the electrical usage using customer provided bills
· System design: populate the roof surfaces with solar modules with customer goals and
· current/future electrical use in mind
· Quote building: using the PSS PVCC to quote the systems
General Requirements
· Excellent written, verbal & phone skills. This person sets the first impression of PSS with our potential customers.
· Proficiency in Microsoft and Google software suites, knowledge of Salesforce and/or Aurora is a plus
· Outgoing and friendly in nature Professional – good demeanor, good image
· Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
· Adaptability to a dynamic and at times chaotic solar market
· High school diploma or equivalent
· College experience desired, especially in the energy/renewable energy fields
· This is considered an entry level position, but the following will be required for ongoing success (we will train):
o Knowledge of PV systems and what constraints and opportunities a site might offer.
o Understanding of design and installation of solar and battery backup systems. This includes knowledge
roof framing, roof types, electrical panels, electric loads both present and future, general building schedules, reading blueprints
Metrics
· Response speed and accuracy - Tracked via random audits of response time & Salesforce reports
· Appropriate lead response and triage - Tracked via feedback from Residential Sales Manager
· Speed, accuracy, and volume with the preliminary designs - Tracked via feedback from Outside sales
· and the Residential Sales Manager.

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
