The Director, Shared Services Business Operations is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing new business opportunities for Sales Operations & Governance Center of Excellence while leading both the project management and communications and creative content team. This position requires a highly motivated individual who will blend business expertise, an innovative can-do attitude and pragmatic implementation experience. The role fosters a collaborative, partnership-based approach with senior level business partners to identify business challenges and solve these challenges by delivering these solutions as a shared service.

The Director will manage Project Management (for sales centric projects), establish business processes, policies, and measurements to ensure consistent execution and accountability for new lifecycle offerings, as well as oversee the development of Masters marketing campaigns and organizational communications. Where appropriate, the individual will integrate solutions into COE’s current organizational structure and will routinely assess the COE’s performance and provide recommendations that address gaps. This role will ensure there are suitable practices in place to protect the business.

The Director creates alignment across the enterprise by integrating governance and business practices.

This position will report to the Vice President, Sales Operations & Governance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a strategic partner who anticipates business needs and identifies and proposes differentiating business solutions to fulfill those needs.
  • Oversee multiple projects that primarily originate from sales and sales support functions.
  • Promote and communicate the COE’s goals and value proposition.
  • Provide improved capabilities that contribute to better business operations and outcomes that cover a range of the shared service attributes.
  • Effectively manages stakeholder relationships and expectations by communicating key milestones, challenges, and all other updates to drive adoption.
  • Provide oversight into the Portfolio management tool and effectively assist with the prioritization of projects and initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and development to direct and indirect employees.
  • Lead and inspire employees, fostering a positive, inclusive and productive work environment.
  • Manage and allocate resources to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Create and present business reviews for senior executives, key internal customers, and other stakeholders.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of professional experience
  • 4+ years of managerial experience

Critical Skills

  • Broad enterprise-wide view of the business and varying degrees of appreciation in strategy, processes, and capabilities, enabling technologies and governance.
  • Collaborative sales experience with demonstrated ability to work with customers to identify needs, evaluate and present opportunities and assist with navigating the decision process.
  • Strong written, oral and presentation skills with ability to effectively communicate across multiple audiences at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and influence in a cross functional, highly matrixed environment.
  • Knowledge of project management or Six Sigma methodologies, including change management, solution roll out and training.
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.

Education

  • 4-year College Degree, some Computer Science or Computer Programming coursework a plus.
  • MBA preferred.

Work Requirements

  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time

Salary: 127,500.00 - 170,000.00 - 212,500.00 USD Annual

As part of Total Rewards, we are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$127,500 - $212,500
