Job Description
Cimarron is seeking a detail-oriented CMMI Specialist to join our groundbreaking team developing the next lunar rover as part of the Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV) program in Houston, TX. In this position, you will assist in achieving and maintaining CMMI Level 3 certification. This is a short-term opportunity (4-6 months) that may be extended and has significant potential for growth. Key Duties:
- Develop, implement, and maintain CMMI processes and procedures.
- Conduct gap analyses to assess current processes against CMMI requirements and identify areas for improvement.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops to educate staff on CMMI practices and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure adherence to CMMI guidelines throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare documentation and reports for CMMI appraisals and assessments.
- Coordinate internal audits and readiness reviews to ensure compliance with CMMI standards.
- Work closely with stakeholders to foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality management.
- Provide expert guidance on process improvement initiatives and best practices.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
- Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
- 5 or more years of experience in CMMI implementation, quality assurance, or process improvement.
- Strong understanding of CMMI models, practices, and standards.
- Proven experience with process mapping, documentation, and auditing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
- CMMI certification or training.
- Strong background in process improvement, quality assurance, and project management, particularly in the context of software and engineering projects.
