Job Description:
The Indoor Golf Shop is growing! To accommodate this rapid growth, we need to bring on a talented Design Specialist that will help with designing, planning, and creating indoor golfing environments for residential and commercial installations. This role will be responsible for developing 2-dimensional schematics and 3-dimensional renderings that outline The Indoor Golf Shop’s pre-installation requirements to distribute to our client and/or their construction team. Our golf simulator designs include floor plans, elevation views, electrical plans, low voltage plans, backing requirements with notations along with realistic to scale renderings. Our designs are not typical architectural skilled blueprints/drawings, but rather a simple version of our custom designed golf simulators fitting into an existing or to be built space. Understanding how to build your design is key so training on installations will be required.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- You will work with clients to determine initial goals and requirements for the space to be designed.
- Utilize industry specific knowledge of golf launch monitor and projector requirements to create functional golf simulator layouts.
- Review project photos and determine the optimal way to orient and build a simulator
- Create 2D Floor Plans
- Create technical drawings, isometric renderings, and custom 3D renderings.
- Create 3D designs from 2D Floor Plans and import 3D designs into rendering programs.
- Create 2d and 3d object files (i.e. furniture, profiles, products.)
- Add and edits objects as necessary to complete the design per specifications.
- Add and manipulates maps and textures to achieve desired results.
- Create and adds direct and ambient lighting.
- Create camera views per best practices.
- Set up renderer settings and render camera views.
- Export rendered views to photoshop for further enhancement.
- Collaborate with team and client throughout the design process.
Experience and Required Qualifications
- Applicant should understand how to use or to be experienced enough to quickly learn how to use Live Home 3d Pro, Keynote, SketchUp and other desktop applications.
- Must be computer skilled in Mac and/or Windows/PC for 3D room designs for golf simulators.
- Must be detail oriented, creative, have basic knowledge of residential and commercial design, and possess the passion and adaptability to grow with a fast growing company.
- Must have a basic understanding of golf and/or golf swing.
- Must know basic construction skills, be handy and have problem-solving skills.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, customer representatives and private homeowners.
- Must have good organizational, analytical, planning, problem solving and strategic thinking skills.
- Must be available for travel for training installation purposes, local or destination.
- CAD, Vizio, and Revit experience can be accepted if candidate can export to our standards.
- Experience with AV and PC products as well as onsite installations preferred but not required.
