Description and Requirements

We are hiring a Director of WW Business and Product Operations for our Workstation team. In this role, you will lead a team of professionals responsible for worldwide business and product operations for the Lenovo Workstation BU. Overall, the role has P&L and business performance accountability for Lenovo’s worldwide Desktop and Notebook Workstation business.

The key focal areas for this leadership role are:

  • Drive business performance through orchestration of strategic plan, target setting, and regular performance tracking and adjustments – both quarterly and annually
  • Enable and support each geographic sales region for success in meeting their workstation sales targets – facilitate and support programs, funding needs, and unique Geo requirements
  • Manage and orchestrate timely and competitive product launches and transitions to maximize revenue and margins – and minimize costs and inefficiencies
  • Define and manage our operational BU BMS and orchestrate across key operational functions for day to day activities as well as strategic initiatives
  • Act as a change agent for business transformation initiatives that further optimize our end to end business execution and performance

In short, this role acts as the “COO” for our business. The candidate is expected to be a business owner who is measured on quarterly and annual worldwide revenue and profit targets and market share. The role will ensure success within this scope: product life cycle; supply chain; marketing; funding; sales enablement; and ease of doing business. To manage this scope, this role must build/optimize a robust business management system to track activities and results. This role works hand in hand with the sales regions to set targets annually and quarterly and drive Workstation sales within the quarter. This role aligns the product portfolio and volume mix with targeted markets and go to market initiatives. Executive communication and presentation skills are critical for this role to represent the business: internally to management to build confidence for future investments and externally to partners and customers to foster partnerships that further build the business for future growth and success.


Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years’ experience in leading business operations in a fast-paced technology business.
  • College degree


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to define and manage a BMS for a product life-cycle driven business or strong overall business operations experience for a technology based worldwide organization.
  • Working knowledge in end to end P&L management – product costs, warranty and operational cost, org and non-org expenses, pricing, revenue and gross margin.
  • Working knowledge of customer, market and industry trends as well as customer requirements.
  • Strong experience with business partnerships, negotiation, and partner program operations.
  • Past experience in a large matrixed environment, and an understanding of how to get things done while alsothe ability to recognize the strategic direction of the company for proper alignment.
  • Experience in executive presentations / communication and the ability to present to large audiences – internal as well as external to Lenovo.
  • Strong experience influencing and collaborating with the other core functions of the business – Development, Operations, Finance, and Service.
  • Analytical experience with strong business writing, product presentation skills, analytical and business math competencies, strong computer skills with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint programs, and a working knowledge of industry and channel practices, market and competitive analysis, financial modeling practices, business case preparation for investments, and familiarity with product cost analysis.
  • MBA preferred

This position will be based in our North America Headquarters in Raleigh, NC. Our office has transitioned to a hybrid work environment supporting 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.
