Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our customer's team. As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and developing new business opportunities. This is a key role, requiring excellent negotiation skills, strategic planning abilities, and a strong understanding of the market. You will live in the southern California area with a territory of the western U.S. and Canada. Travel required is approximately 50%. All account managers are supported by an Inside Sales Representative.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities to achieve sales targets
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through effective communication and exceptional customer service
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitors, and potential business opportunities
- Develop and implement strategic plans to expand our customer base and increase market share
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project management and execution
- Utilize customer relationship management (CRM) software to track sales activities, pipeline, and customer interactions
- Prepare and deliver presentations to prospective clients, highlighting the value proposition of our products/services
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with clients to maximize profitability
Experience:
- Proven track record in technical sales and business development roles. Manufacturing or distribution sales experience in the materials, adhesives, paper or plastics packaging, film, labels, or printing industry is desired but not required. Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in sales.
- Strong knowledge of negotiation techniques and strategies
- Experience in customer relationship management (CRM) software usage (e.g., Salesforce)
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to analyze market trends and develop effective strategies
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Material Science, or a related field

Pay: $91,371.23 - $105,726.64 per year
