Responsibilities

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Manager to join our Simulation and Training group. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business development within the electro-mechanical solutions sector, including control loading solutions, along with a comprehensive understanding of the broader simulation and training industry. This role requires strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to drive growth in a competitive market.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive project plans outlining scope, schedule, resources, and budget.
  • Lead project teams in execution of project plans, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications with clients, stakeholders, and government agencies.
  • Facilitate regular status meetings and provide detailed reports on project performance, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Ensure all projects comply with relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Ensure adherence to quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of project deliverables.
  • Coordinate and allocate resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and budget.
  • Manage project teams, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost-efficiency.
  • Conduct financial analysis and reporting to support project decision-making and ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Identify potential risks and develop comprehensive risk management plans.
  • Proactively address and resolve issues to minimize project impact.
  • Lead and manage international project teams, fostering collaborating and effective communication across different time zones and cultures.
  • Coordinate with international partners, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure project alignment and success.
  • Implement strategies to overcome cultural and logistical challenges in global project management.
  • Assist in the preparation of sales proposals and presentations, providing project insights and timelines.
  • Assist in identifying and developing new business opportunities to expand the company’s client base and project portfolio.
  • Assist in order management processes, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of project-related orders.


Qualifications

  • Experience managing international teams and coordinating cross-border projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and procurement processes.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience with project management software tools (e.g. MS Project, Primavera).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time to various project sites and client locations as required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 7 years of project management experience, with at least 3 years managing international projects.
  • Experience with Agile and Lean project management methodologies.
  • Familiarity with contract management and acquisition processes.
  • Experience in the motion control field is desirable but not required.
  • Proficiency in SAP software.
  • Proficiency in the German language is preferred, but not required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills needed to work with various departments, customers, vendors, employees and third parties.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines. Travel up to 30% to project sites and client locations as required.
