Civil/Structural Field Engineer

Job Description

Job Type: 12 months contract (potential to extend)

Work schedule: up to 60 hours per/week. 60 hrs. is the cap. (including shutdown and weekends).

Travel: 5% only domestic travel

Responsibilities:

• Serve as "Subject Matter Expert" related to Civil, Structural systems.
• The resource will be planning for quantity of steel, dimension of steel required for the project, etc.
• Responsible for designing, quality inspection.
• Work with internal stakeholders to develop project criteria, scope, estimate and project schedules.
• Provide internal review of CS system drawings from outside engineering firms to support system implementation.
• Ensure compliance with related local, state, national codes, facility operations and company standards.
• Shop drawing review, RFI processing and Kanban completion for ACS systems.
• Coordination of weekend and plant shutdown work with contractors, plant facilities groups, and manufacturing groups.
• Conduct work progress inspections on a continuous basis.
• Support construction administration activities related to schedule coordination, quality confirmations, weekly coordination meetings, and planned utility outages.

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years in construction management. (Industrial/Commercial Building) – MUST HAVE
• Must have experience with Steel and Concrete Work
• Experience in design criteria development for Civil Structural systems.
• Automotive experience with engine, transmission, or vehicle facilities or similar industrial manufacturer.
• 5+ years in Civil design field.
• Good organizational skills, communication skills, schedule management skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project.

Additional Desired Qualifications:

• Bluebeam, AutoCAD

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $59.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

• Up to 25% travel
