Sales Engineering Development Program
The Sales Engineering Development Program, also referred to as our Technical Account Manager Development Program (TAM DP) is our very own mentoring and training program that develops sales and commercial leaders through challenging rotational assignments and training curriculum. TAM DP prepares its members for off-program placement in challenging commercial roles by providing the opportunity to learn about our products and customers, while also making significant contributions to the business. The TAM DP provides non-technical (e.g. sales strategy) and technical (product applications) training.
The applicant selected must be technically competent in electronics and electrical engineering and have the proven ability to interface effectively and work closely with internal and external engineering and sales departments.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to learn and contribute in the following ways:
- inbound calls and/or leads.
- sales revenue by negotiating deals and selling products to customers.
- monthly forecasts of opportunities and bookings.
- closely with Testforce marketing to develop product literature and position the product in the marketplace.
- strong technical competence in our suppliers’ products and how they can benefit the customer.
- strong working relationships with customers and suppliers to enhance existing accounts and acquire new customer accounts.
- to personal growth and development by participating in Testforce sales and technical training sessions.
- learn about key Testforce suppliers, product specifications and capabilities, applications, market segments and competition.
- a deep understanding of customer profiles including details on the customer’s businesses, strategies, operating methods and needs.
- customer-focused strategies that deliver positive impact for the customer and add value to Testforce.
- appropriate customer meetings for supplier visits.
- and effectively debrief suppliers on customer needs and/or debrief customers on supplier products.
Requirements
The candidate must have:
- relentless work ethic! We need an individual who is driven to learn and wants to be a successful and respected technical sales professional!
- or university graduate with a degree in electronics, electrical engineering, computer engineering (focus on hardware), electrical technologist or related discipline.
- in metrology and/or the test and measurement of electronics (familiarity with instruments such as digital multimeter, oscilloscope, signal generator, spectrum analyzer, power analyzer).
- prospecting sales, generating sales leads and executing sales in the high-technology, telecommunications, or software industry in a strong asset.
- communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- ability to deal with technical challenges independently.
