Job Description

Summary
Sell and promote Heatcon Composite Systems products and services in the aviation and aerospace industry. Provide technical application assistance and quoting for the customer through effective teamwork to assure excellent customer follow-through and service. Expand and maintain the existing customer account base and identify, contact, and secure new profitable business relationships. Effectively communicate results of sales activities and monthly sales revenue objectives to senior management.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Serve as the primary sales contact for customers in an assigned territory with direct responsibility for sales results and growth

  • Identify business opportunities to promote Heatcon Composite Systems products and services.

  • Develop sales plan to support territory development in advance of customer meetings.

  • Provide follow up reporting on sales activities including opportunity assessment and action plan.

  • Collect information related to competitor activities within market. Provide input to support competitive positioning and new product development.

  • Maintain excellent customer service consistent with brand image.

  • Maintain and utilize CRM and ERP programs.

  • Provide support to customer service/inside sales representatives on pre-sale and post-sale activities including, but not limited to; assistance gathering information required for order processing, negotiation of delivery date requirements, quotation and order follow up.

  • Coordinate with various departments, including Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Warehouse/Shipping to ensure on-time customer delivery and satisfaction.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position assists in providing guidance and direction for Customer Service Representatives.


Minimum Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Prolonged standing in presentation position is also necessary. Travel flexibility is required.

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) and 7 years of sales experience with at least 5 years of outside sales within the aerospace industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • A familiarity of mechanical and electrical concepts is required.

  • It is highly desirable the individual have experience with composite materials and composite repair.

  • Must have excellent interpersonal, social and communication skills.

  • Possess strong time management skills with a demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced, results-oriented team work environment.

  • Experience with negotiation, proposal and contract management.


Computer Skills

Proficient with Microsoft programs – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience with WebEx or other video conferencing tools in sharing information are highly preferred.


Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional reports and documents, scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to effectively prepare and present information to subordinate employees, management, customers, and the board of directors. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Must be able to write professional reports, documentation, and correspondence. Must have effective interpersonal, customer service, and persuasive sales skills.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply concepts of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and statistics and their applications to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, product pricing, profit margins and sales projections.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to assimilate information from diverse sources to form a complete situational picture and develop a plan of action to accomplish the task. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand and sit for prolonged periods, balance, speak clearly, and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly required to use fingers, hands, and arms to manipulate and shuffle documents, use writing instruments, and type on a keyboard. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds.

Under state law, employees have a duty to immediately report all accidents to their employer. Work areas should be kept clean and well-organized.


Work Environment

Drug-free working environment. Domestic and international travel up to 50% typically to the East Coast and usual office conditions.
