POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Industrial Sales Representative – Kohler Power

Department: Equipment Sales - Generators

Reports to: Industrial Sales Manager
Summary:
Power Depot has been a full-service equipment distributor since our inception in 1992. We specialize in the rental, service, and sales of power generation equipment and parts for industrial, commercial, and residential applications. For over 30 years, we have proudly represented globally recognized manufacturers such as Kohler Power Systems and Atlas Copco. Our close partnership with them has allowed us to serve the market with world-class quality products while providing the highest level of customer service. Our factory-certified service department enables us to handle all types of repairs.

Power Depot is looking for an industrial salesperson to promote the Kohler Power manufactured equipment.

This industrial salesperson must obtain annually assigned sales quotas by providing information and training on company products, services, applications, and system design. Promote Kohler manufactured products as the coordinator of engineering and sales support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, the Industrial Sales Representative must be able to perform the following:

Sales

  • Assist architectural firms, engineering firms, contractors, and end users in the sizing, selection, and development of Emergency Power Systems
  • Conduct sales calls as the primary method of relationship building and contact with consulting engineers, electrical contractors, and end users.
  • Follow through on office inquiries
  • Manage the project manager in the assembly of information, prints, specification take-offs, parts list, layouts, and systems design to enable pricing and development of proposals
  • Through the CRM software, continually update project status, submit reports covering sales forecasts, competitor activity, service, system needs and economic climate of territory.
  • Search for public and private sales opportunities via a contractor, consulting engineer and end user relationship
  • Create odd/unusual specifications
  • Review QuickPack quote for compliance with project and specifications & requirements
  • Decide on GP% based on project and customer specific conditions
  • Manage submission of proposals being sent to customers
  • Timely follow-up on customer proposal (until order is won, lost or dead)
  • Close the sale (get the customer purchase order and/or signed proposal)
  • Support Project Manager with general technical questions
  • Support Project Manager with project-specific questions for projects that particular salesman is responsible for
  • Review engineering submittal for compliance with project specifications & requirements
  • Communicate order status problems or delays to customer
  • While balancing these office responsibilities listed above, focus and prioritize your time to ensure the majority is spent in front of or interacting with your customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Administration

  • Plan sales activities and submit itinerary sheets and call reports
  • Operate within company policies and procedures

Training and Development

  • Attend sales and product training seminars as required
  • Participate in sales seminars and product shows for existing and new customers

Interpersonal

  • Interact with management, service, and administrative personnel

Accountability

  • Achieve annual sales quota (sales revenue, gross margins)
  • Satisfaction of customers relating to system design and the coordination and expediting of the job in progress.
  • Accuracy and timeliness of requested information relative to territory

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

Education/Experience

Technical Bachelor’s degree (Engineering preferred) from a college or university; and, minimum of two years related sales experience (preferred).

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply algebraic concepts.

Integrates changes smoothly. Plans for additional resources. Prioritizes and plans work activities. Sets goals and objectives. Uses time efficiently. Works in an organized manner.

Sales and Marketing

Utilize principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, and sales techniques necessary for closing a deal.

Safety and Security

Employees are expected to observe all safety and security procedures. This applies especially in the warehouse and service yard areas. These are working areas where forklifts are in operation, stacks of equipment are present, moving vehicles which not only include service vehicles but large transport trucks as well. Employees are expected to use extreme caution while in these areas and report any potentially unsafe condition or activity.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
