In this individual contributor role, the IT Business Analyst/Orchestrator will serve as an influential intermediary between the assigned business areas, the IT development/QA teams, and requires an applying knowledge of both sides of the spectrum. The Systems Analysis will be charged with the following responsibilities:

  • Serve as an influential intermediary between the individual retirement business area and the IT development/QA teams.
  • Gather and analyze business requirements specific to the individual retirement area from stakeholders and translate them into functional specifications.
  • Collaborate with individual retirement business stakeholders to identify and document their needs, objectives, and desired outcomes.
  • Conduct business process analysis within the individual retirement area, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Responsible to increase efficiency and optimize product development lifecycle to achieve speed to market.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between individual retirement business stakeholders and technical teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, and interviews to elicit requirements related to individual retirement processes and ensure a thorough understanding of business processes.
  • Play an SME role for Individual Retirement IT systems when collaborating with Business Owners in developing IT solutions to meet project scope and budget.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure that solutions align with individual retirement business goals and objectives.
  • Perform gap analysis to identify discrepancies between individual retirement business requirements and existing systems or processes.
  • Drive and maintain a healthy backlog of work for the development squads, and function as a Product Owner on features.
  • Work closely with solution architects and delivery leads to define project scope, goals, solution design and deliverables within the individual retirement area.
  • Provide guidance and support during the testing and implementation phases of individual retirement projects.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing within the individual retirement area to ensure that delivered solutions meet business requirements.


The base salary range for this position is $107,000 - $139,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business administration, Finance & marketing or related field
  • 10+ years of proven experience as a senior business analyst or in a similar role, preferably within the retirement industry.
  • Deep understanding and applying knowledge of IR core systems such as wmA, Vantage, nbA, and csA, as well as proficiency in working with all associated interfaces.
  • Knowledge of different business analysis techniques, tools, and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies, such as Agile.
  • Proficiency in requirements gathering, process modeling, and documentation.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and the ability to translate complex concepts into clear and concise requirements.
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and facilitate collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
  • Established problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using business analysis tools and software, such as requirement management tools and diagramming tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified LOMA - 280 ,290 (FLMI-1) and LOMA-301.
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) from scrum alliance.
  • Certified Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe 5.1).
  • Certified Business Analytics Certification (BACP).
  • Understanding SQL databases.
  • Interpersonal / relationship management skills, able to foster working relationships within the team, across IT and business areas.
  • Exposure to Azure DevOps (preferred), Rally or similar Agile backlog management tools.
  • Insurance and/or finance experience

Agile Methodologies: Knowledge of concept and principles of agile methodology; ability to apply appropriate agile approaches in the processes of software development and delivery.

Business Data Analysis: Knowledge of business data analysis; ability to collect, identify, analyze and interpret business data using various kinds of techniques to meet business needs and requirements.

Software Development: Knowledge of software development tools and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements.

Software Quality Assurance and Testing: Knowledge of software quality assurance and testing; ability to apply appropriate processes, tools, and techniques for assuring a high level of quality in computer software products and systems.

System and Technology Integration: Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.

Technical Writing/Documentation: Knowledge of technical writing; ability to write technical documents such as manuals, reports, guidelines or documents on standards, processes and applications.
