Systems Engineers are responsible for delivering all contractual requirements within cost and on schedule, while achieving all technical. They support the program by managing all phases of the program life cycle from inception (proposal development) through startup, execution, and completion (contract closeout). Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Support the software development process from initial needs elicitation to delivery and fielding. Special emphasis is given to the research, definition, documentation, tracking and validation of system requirementsCultivating customer relationships and intimacy to develop further opportunities within the customer community
Establishing a program organization that effectively addresses customer requirements and incorporates the necessary internal and external sub-organizations
Delivering presentations to customers, executive management and other program stakeholders
Establishing design concepts, criteria, and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test
Lead independent technical investigations, provide technical advice, recommend technical solutions and assists the Government in integrating the GCCS-J functionality into new baselines
Interface with multiple, geographically-disbursed development teams to ensure compliance with emerging standards and requirements
Follow Agile Development process and full life cycle development: requirements, design, implementation, test, and maintenance
Exhibit a positive attitude, a high level of initiative, and must enjoy the challenge of bringing structured notional software solutions to ill-defined environments
Required Skills
Bachelor's Degree in a Science/Technology/Engineering/Mathematics (STEM) related fieldDemonstrate excellence in managing challenging customer relationships during development and execution
Experience in requirements solicitation and development
Demonstrated success in leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either project lead, integrated program team or cost account manager
Experience in collaborating with employees within a department and across functions
Understanding of system lifecycle, analysis, development, and management
Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to operate in a team environment.
US citizen with a final Secret clearance
Desired Skills
Management of direct reporting staffStrong experience in MBSE and modeling tools such as Cameo Enterprise Architecture.
Ability to read and develop Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) models.
Knowledge of major US DOD acquisition organizations, military customers, and/or military
Experience with cross-platform management (Windows and Unix/Linux data exchange)
Experience with virtual machine environments
Experience with the concepts of configuration and data management
Familiarity with database design/structures
Understanding of virtual environments consisting of VMWare technology
Solaris/Linux and Windows System Administration skills
Attention to detail coupled with the ability to quickly learn new procedures with minimal supervision
Top Secret / SCI clearance
