Position Purpose and Objectives

The Marketing Manager leads the execution of all marketing functions to support corporate initiatives, generate revenue, and drive awareness and preference for the brand. The Marketing Manager leverages data and analytics to drive insights and owns and manages the brand and member experience.

Major Duties and Essential Functions

  • Manages product positioning, image, advertising, and communication across all marketing channels including website, social media, print media, digital advertising, and search engine marketing.
  • Executes marketing plan/strategies that support the sales of credit union products. These relate to branch, call center, online and mobile channels.
  • Oversees responsibility for legal and social compliance for the marketing, special programs and member service areas of the organization and their specific functions.
  • Ensures that operational excellence and continuous improvement are key focuses and are supported throughout the Marketing department.
  • Responsible for coaching and developing Marketing staff.
  • Liaison between Marketing and internal stakeholders (Retail, Lending, et al) to ensure adequate marketing support for corporate initiatives and sales goals.
  • Responsible for market research and competitive analysis of marketing efforts, promotions, and product and service offerings, and makes recommendations to senior management to stay competitive.
  • Provides ongoing member data analysis using Marketing Customer Information File (MCIF) for targeting and segmentation.
  • Support and drive the Texans cultural model throughout all levels of the Marketing department, including incorporating fun and recognition into the work environment.
  • Ensures consistent branding and design across all marketing efforts (e.g., images, messaging, and layouts), as well as compliance with regulations and credit union policies.
  • Analyzes Marketing performance metrics and provides updates to Texans CU leadership in accomplishing defined objectives.
  • Assists with development and management of annual budget to ensure all promotions, communications and programs are executed on time, at a high quality, and within approved budget constraints.
  • Collaborates with Business Development Manager to make sure all brand and marketing collateral are appropriate for community events and Select Employee Group partners.
  • Ensures compliance with rules and regulations as well as Credit Union policies and procedures concerning the origination and servicing of real estate loans.
  • Completes additional duties which may be assigned to reflect changing circumstances.

  • Provide friendly, professional, and accurate service and support to all members and associates.
  • Create EPIC experiences for our members and internal team members.

Positions directly supervised: Senior Marketing Specialist, Brand Specialist, Graphic Designer, Digital Strategist

Requirements:

Specific knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position:

  • Knowledge of Credit Union operations and ability to integrate and communicate critical information.
  • Computer skills, leadership, written, and verbal communication skills are required.
  • The ability to motivate and influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office tools.
  • Working knowledge of basic design tools (Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), web content management systems, mass email service providers, and databases for target marketing (Marketing Customer Information File – MCIF) preferred
  • Experience with Google Analytics and AdWords a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of business and APA-style English, promotional writing, spelling/grammar, and proofreading skills
  • Knowledge of marketing principles and practices
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to develop significant level of trust and display diplomacy, courtesy and tact with coworkers and third-party vendors.
  • Helpful, positive, cooperative team player; cultural fit important, Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical aptitude with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with great attention to timeliness and detail.
  • Deals well with ambiguity and can effectively cope with change; shifts gears comfortably
  • Must be able to work with little supervision and utilize resources available in absence of direct supervision; know how to find the answer on his/her own.
  • Must have the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time at events.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field (BA or BS) from four-year college or university
  • 3+ years of marketing or sales experience with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory capacity
  • Experience working within a structure and discipline of financial services.
  • Management experience leading leaders as well as cross functional teams
  • Positive community reputation and involvement
  • Demonstrated breadth of knowledge and experience with digital marketing
  • Working knowledge of bank technology platforms, particularly how systems and applications integrate with business processes and operations
