Job Brief

We are looking for a seasoned and well-connected Business Development Manager for the Greater China Market (mainland China, Taiwan, Hongkong, and in-Canada Chinese market) to join our growing team! In this key business development role, you will lead the development of student recruitment strategies for Greater China, driving their execution and success. You’ll focus on designing, optimizing, and managing programs while collaborating with internal teams and external partners, such as agents and school counselors, to ultimately achieve our enrolment goals.

Responsibilities:

These responsibilities require strong communication, teamwork, negotiation, and project management skills, along with expertise in business development and a deep understanding of the Greater China market. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to build relationships, think strategically, and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strategic Planning and Market Analysis

Market Research: Analyze trends in the education sector, competitor activities, and potential opportunities in Greater China market.

Strategy Development: Create and implement business development strategies tailored for B2B partnerships with educational institutions and B2C initiatives targeting students and parents.

● Product Design and Optimization: Collaborate with internal teams to design and refine programs, ensuring they meet market demands and are optimized for delivery and enrollment success.

  • Relationship Management

Partnership Building: Establish and maintain relationships with schools, universities, agents, and other stakeholders to enhance recruitment efforts; Collaborate closely with international colleagues to align strategies and maximize outcomes.

Networking: Attend industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote the organization and foster relationships.

  • Recruitment and Sales

Lead Generation: Identify and pursue new business opportunities in student recruitment, targeting both institutional clients (B2B) and individual students (B2C).

Sales Strategy: Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve recruitment targets, including conducting presentations and negotiations.

  • Marketing and Promotion

Marketing Campaigns: Collaborate with marketing teams to design and implement campaigns that attract students and institutions.

Content Creation: Develop promotional materials, such as brochures, digital content, and presentations, tailored to various audiences.

  • Customer Service and Support

Client Support: Provide guidance and support to students and institutions throughout the recruitment process, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.

Feedback Collection: Gather feedback from partners and students to refine services and improve the recruitment experience.

  • Reporting and Analysis

Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on recruitment metrics, sales performance, and market trends to senior management.

Budget Management: Assist in developing and managing budgets for business development initiatives and campaigns.

  • Compliance and Regulation

Regulatory Knowledge: Stay updated on educational regulations and policies in the Greater China market, ensuring compliance in all recruitment activities.

8. Other duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum three (3) year of work experience in international student recruitment, school /or college.
  • Language: English and Mandarin
  • Knowledge and experience in the Southeast Asia market is an asset.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Travel within the Greater Vancouver area (GVA). It may, from time to time, require travel outside the GVA.
  • Travel to education fairs, agent meetings, etc.
  • Be flexible to meet the job demands.
  • Adhere to confidentiality.

Knowledge:

  • Understand the procedures of student registration.
  • Understand the Canadian and Chinese educational environments.
  • Possess knowledge of recordkeeping and data management
  • Student information systems, Microsoft Office, and other related software applications

Skill in:

  • Planning and organizing promotional events.
  • Understanding students and fostering student success
  • Developing and maintaining effective and appropriate working relationships
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and analysis

Ability to:

  • Guide students through the registration process.
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Respect diversity and work collaboratively with individuals of diverse cultural, social and educational backgrounds.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of information and professional boundaries.
  • Work independently to analyze available information, draw conclusions and understandings, and present such findings effectively to senior management.
  • Ability to set KPIs and track progress

Regular office environment.

Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $50,000 to $60,000.00 and KPI bonus and options
