As the Director of Supply Chain, you will play a critical role in helping Hypercraft maintain its leadership position by managing the flow of materials, components, and information necessary for efficient production. You will lead Sourcing, Planning, Purchasing, and Logistics functions. You will help expand Hypercraft’s supply base, building and maintaining critical supplier relationships. In this role, you will collaborate with other departments to create effective strategies, assess issues, and resolve problems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide leadership to Sourcing, Planning, Purchasing, and Logistics functions. Understand and deliver value in each of these functional areas.
- Collaborate with sales and production teams to forecast demand and align supply chain strategies accordingly
- Operate in a lean manufacturing environment, operating on kanban replenishment methodologies
- Develop a resilient supplier network, focusing on key materials
- Secure favorable terms, including quality, delivery schedules, pricing, and sustainability practices
- Work closely with suppliers to improve quality, efficiency, and responsiveness, ensuring adherence to company standards
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and high-level customers
- Be an active participant in all applicable internal and external technical reviews and provide input as it relates to quality, manufacturability, and cost drivers
- Balance inventory to prevent stockouts of critical components and minimize excess stock that ties up capital
- Negotiate short- and long-term agreements for all purchased items (raw materials, components, subassemblies, finished goods, equipment, tooling, supplies, and/or services) from suppliers.
- Assess financial risks of purchases and supply chain strategies
- May attend trade shows, product exhibitions, and conferences to maintain understanding of new products and trends.
- Investigate, evaluate, and recommend new and/or alternate sources of supply as needed to support product development, capacity expansion, cost reduction activities, regional content needs and/or to improve supplier performance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of supply chain/operations experience in a manufacturing and sourcing environment
- Bachelors degree in supply chain, operations, business, or related field or equivalent experience
- Experience with domestic and international sourcing and logistics
- Progressive supervisory and leadership experience
- Ability to support and implement systems to support a fast-growing organization
- Experience implementing/using an ERP system, plus experience with Kanban replenishment processes
- Previous experience in a start-up or high growth environment (preferred)
