The Government Sales and Business Development Manager position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge vehicle connectivity technology. In this role, you will be responsible for expanding our success in providing vehicle integration products and services to state transportation agencies, SmartCities, and fleets. Your main tasks will include developing and executing a prospecting plan, qualifying government fleet leads, managing sales cycles, and meeting with decision-makers at government agencies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales and Business Development
- Generate a steady flow of bids from agencies, cities, and government fleets to meet sales targets
- Respond to bid inquiries promptly
- Ensure timely responses to government bid requests
- Create and submit quote responses, seeking input from internal teams
- Utilize Hubspot CRM to manage the sales pipeline effectively
- Represent the company at trade shows as needed
Marketing
- Develop a deep understanding of the vehicle safety products and up-fitting industry
- Identify market opportunities for Brandmotion products
- Influence the strategic direction of the business unit
- Utilize knowledge of the company's strengths to drive marketing strategies
- Stay informed about industry trends and news
- Contribute to the development of marketing strategies in collaboration with the marketing team
- Implement innovative marketing approaches to reach new prospects
- Maintain an up-to-date marketing mailing list
Key Account Management
- Ensure that completed work aligns with the brand and meets account goals
- Collaborate with clients to define project scopes and estimates
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders at various levels
- Provide direction to internal project teams
- Understand technical requirements and assess client needs accurately
- Pay close attention to budget, schedule, and client interactions for successful project outcomes
- Facilitate a smooth transition of projects to project management teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
- 3-5+ years of experience in sales and business development
- Proficiency in leading complex bid responses
- Experience selling emerging communications or electronics technology
- Familiarity with federal grant opportunities
- Previous experience selling to government agencies
- Ability to generate opportunities from various sources, both internal and external.
