Job Summary:
This role combines traditional customer service functions with proactive inside sales responsibilities. The ideal candidate will excel at supporting existing clients, collaborating with outside sales representatives, nurturing client relationships, and identifying new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service and Order Management:
- Process and enter customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Track order status and provide timely updates to clients
- Handle returns and process defective replacements
- Resolve customer inquiries and issues promptly
- Conduct order follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction
2. Outside Sales Support:
- Work closely with outside sales representatives to provide administrative support
- Identify and qualify leads for outside sales team
- Place orders on behalf of outside sales reps
- Convert backorder lists to items in stock, maximizing sales opportunities
- Follow up with customers to create additional sales
- Assist in preparing sales reports and presentations
- Coordinate with outside sales reps to ensure seamless client experience
3. Client Relationship Management and Sales/Marketing Support:
- Proactively reach out to existing clients to build and maintain strong relationships
- Conduct client interviews/surveys to obtain personal and demographic information for sales/marketing purposes
- Create and send personalized emails to generate interest and increase sales
- Update and maintain accurate client information in the SAP/EYEREP/EXCEL system
- Collaborate with the sales team to align sales efforts with marketing campaigns and promotions
4. New Business Development:
- Research potential new customers using various resources
- Gather and organize data on prospective clients
- Conduct cold calls to introduce company products/services and gauge interest
- Develop and execute email campaigns to attract new customers
- Qualify leads and schedule appointments for the sales team
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong customer service orientation
- Proficiency in CRM/SAP software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
- Experience in sales operations, customer service, or related field
- Knowledge of inside sales techniques and best practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in a combined customer service and sales role
- Familiarity with email marketing tools and techniques
- Experience with data analysis and reporting
- Knowledge of industry-specific software or tools
Key Performance Indicators:
- Customer satisfaction ratings
- Order processing accuracy and efficiency
- Number of qualified leads generated
- Conversion rate of leads to customers
- Upsell and cross-sell success rates
- Response time to customer inquiries
- Achievement of sales targets (individual and team)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
