CloudOps Engineer

We are looking for a seasoned CloudOps Engineer who is passionate about cloud technology, product quality, customer success, engaging and mentoring engineers and peers.

What you will be doing:

• You will join our Core DevOps Technology and CI/CD team. The team is tasked to provide the architecture, methods, patterns, and tools for other teams to build cloud components applications.
• You will help set course to build new cloud offerings and transition from existing architecture to a containerized micros service architecture.
• Mentor software engineering teams through pairing and performing code reviews.
• Create key platform infrastructure to support mission critical software development.
• Implement best practices to optimize cost, increase observability
• Design and implement solutions and components for public cloud, private cloud, on prem and hybrid deployments
• Support the applications teams with their design and implementation of cloud components
• Support and coordinate with our CloudOps team in the development of base deployment scripts for our cloud solution offerings.
• Help grow the team skill set by mentoring, training, and hiring

• BS degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Over 10 years' experience developing complex distributed systems.
• Over 4 years' experience in senior development role, developing cloud architecture and components.
• Solid knowledge and/or certificates working with the major public cloud providers (GCP, AWS, Azure, and OCI).
• Experience with OS virtualization and microservices technologies (VMWare ESXi, KVM, Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, etc.)
• Expert in containerization their orchestration and service mesh topology.
• Extensive experience implementing CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in managing container registries (Nexus, etc)
• Experience developing and supporting Terraform and Helm Chart deployment scripting.
• Working experience developing and maintaining REST API layer
• Experience in production environments implementing load balancing, API gateways and proxy solutions
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and others

Nice to have:

• CompTIA Security+ certification
• Past experience developing NodeJS native addons
• Past experience working on Nginx through its various configuration options
