Job Overview
As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the University of Cincinnati (UC) College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients.
The Office of Medical Education is seeking a full-time Data Analyst. This position will provide data analytic support for the College of Medicine to support and maintain system data between various University of Cincinnati databases. This position is hybrid optional
Essential Functions
- Conduct research and collect data which will help in continual product/report development that will meet UC COM/UC Physicians, Inc. objectives.
- Perform system analysis, data analysis or programming, using Excel, Access, and SQL server.
- Work to identify data related problems and solve them.
- Ensure high quality data is collected and the integrity of the data.
- Process data and develop reports on various projects.
- Conceptualize data and sharing this knowledge through effective presentation of the data output with the rest of the team and key stakeholders.
- Effectively communicate with business users and IT/Data Engineering teams to maintain appropriate project management, prioritize development, and increase information product functionality.
- Develop and prepare information products to be used by the organization.
- Database design, security, data storage and management.
- Ensure smooth and proper running of database.
- Act as source of knowledge for all Accounting and Financial database systems and tools.
- Support department during budget season (December – March) for troubleshooting on an on-call basis. May be required to work on weekends.
- Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
Required Education
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience
- One (1) year database management or related experience.
- Familiarity with Access, SQL Server (SSMS), PowerBI, and other data analysis tools.
- Advanced Excel skills/speed.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
