Job Description
Climate LLC: Lead Data Scientist for St. Louis, MO to lead geospatial data research projects that analyze & interpret spatial temporal data to enable farming management and decision-making; develop & execute project plans; drive project prioritization; oversee team in planning & implementing research improvements using statistical techniques; set research strategy & ensure alignment with business strategy; manage communication of statistical results to internal & external stakeholders; mentor & coach junior data scientists. Requires Master’s in C.S., Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or closely-related field & 2 yrs experiencecontributing to the performance of exploratory geospatial data analysis using descriptive and/or exploratory analytics, root cause analysis, signal processing, clustering, data processing and/or visualization to evaluate data trends; assisting in building machine learning and/or statistical models, including geospatial processing algorithms, to characterize & identify data patterns for geospatial research applications; writing code in Python with data science packages, including Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Sklearn and/or SciPy; joining large & diverse datasets across multiple databases and supporting the performance of data quality checks; contributing to building scientific computation, pattern recognition and/or data transformation modules into production-grade Conda packages & deploying program packages using GitLab CI/CD; performing code review using Git for version control; curating data using PySpark & SQL; distributing data using YARN; working with large-scale raster & vector format data to generate analysis-ready geospatial layers; performing spatial join, geometry aggregation, transformation and/or visualization using Python geospatial libraries, including GeoPandas & Shapely; and assisting in benchmarking & tuning code to increase data efficiency and performance.
