POSITION OVERVIEW: The Sales Consultant will assist our commercial building clients in discovering the best solar options and collaborate with them to successfully transition from conventional energy sources to solar power. The ideal applicant is enthusiastic about clean energy and thrives in a team environment to reach shared objectives.
LOCATION: Remote with travel throughout Southeast Michigan. Must reside within the Southeast Michigan area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Learn solar technology and become proficient with company proposal software.
- Identify and pursue potential customers who are interested in solar energy solutions. This may involve cold calling, networking, attending industry events and leveraging online resources.
- Prospect to schedule appointments and follow up with prospects to win their business.
- Ability to develop new business relationships with commercial building owners and enterprises to grow our business.
- Tailor solar energy solutions to meet the specific needs and requirements of each customer. Provide detailed information about benefits, cost savings, and environmental impact of solar energy systems. Prepare professional presentations for commercial building owners.
- Conduct in-depth consultations with potential clients to understand their energy needs and access the feasibility of solar energy solutions for their businesses.
- Create and present compelling proposals to potential customers, outlining the financial benefits, tax incentives, and the return on investment of switching to solar energy.
- Use your persuasive skills to close deals and secure signed contracts for solar energy installations.
- Address customer concerns and objections, providing clear and persuasive responses to facilitate the sales process.
- Provide superior customer service to move customers to advocates in order to obtain referrals.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, offering guidance, and ensuring a smooth transition to the installation process.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, contracts, and customer information. Ensure that all necessary paperwork and documentation are completed accurately and on time.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 years of building sales experience
- 1 year of successful in-home sales experience
- Experience in the Solar industry preferred
- Good understanding of commercial electrical systems, including 3 phase systems.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Demonstrated ability to convert leads into closed sales on a consistent basis
- Ability to display confidence in sales situations
- Ability to remain optimistic in challenging situations
- Must be comfortable with Outlook, Outlook Calendar, and utilizing CRM tools as well as proficiency in using Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
WORK LOCATION: Remote with local travel required
COMPENSATION: Base salary plus commission
