Job Description

WE ARE LOOKING FOR THE FOLLOWING POSITIONS:

• Asphalt Paver Operator
• Paver Tail-End Operators
• Milling Machine (Asphalt Grinder) Operators
• Roller Operators
• Shuttle Buggy Operators
• Rake Persons & Labourers

Job Descriptions

Paver Operator:

• Operate Paver safely & effectively.
• Communicate effectively with crew members
• Experience considered an asset but we are willing to train the right candidates

Roller Operator:

• Operate a variety of rollers differing in size safely and effectively.
• Ensure the compaction requirements of asphalt are met.
• Assist in manual labour tasks as required.
• Be aware of surroundings and traffic.
• Communicate well with all team members.
• Experience is considered an asset but we are willing to train the right candidates.

Paver Tail-End Operators

• Understanding the rules of “Paving by Numbers” is an asset
• Controlling the screeds on the tail end of the paving machine in order to maintain a constant distribution of asphalt
• Adjusting screed settings to properly distribute asphalt according to specifications as instructed by crew supervisor
• Adjusting settings for Grade Controls and use of Automatics
• Participate in the daily Maintenance and Cleaning of Asphalt Equipment
• Other duties as required

Milling Machine (Asphalt Grinder) Operators

• Operating Milling Equipment, Skid Steer (grinder attachment, sweep attachment)
• Adjusting settings for Grade Controls and use of Automatics as instructed by crew supervisor
• Participate in the daily Maintenance and Cleaning of Milling Equipment
• Other duties as required

Shuttle Buggy Operators

• Operate a Shuttle Buggy in a safe and efficient manner
• Adjusting settings to properly distribute asphalt according to production speeds as instructed by crew supervisor
• Participate in the daily Maintenance and Cleaning of Asphalt Equipment
• Other duties as required

Asphalt Raker/*Labourers *

• Rake asphalt and perform handwork effectively.
• Rake joints as required
• Perform other general labour tasks as required.
• Experience is considered an asset but we are willing to train the right candidates

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience in the construction industry Is an asset
• Able to stand extended periods of time and work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Willing to travel with crew to sites with possible overnight stays from time to time required
• Have a strong work ethic and ability to work in a team setting.
• Be willing to work overtime
• Be an effective communicator
