Finance Consultant Job Requirements

FLSA Status: Exempt

Annual Salary: $50,000 to $70,000 USD

Work Location: On-site, Schaumburg, IL

What we need

Mixam is looking for a Finance Consultant to help manage sales and purchase ledgers that come from interactions with the Customer Success team, complete bank reconciliations, and assist with various accounting functions. The Finance Consultant is responsible for managing accounts payable and receivable as well as month-end processes to ensure accurate and timely financial data for US sales.

Things you’ll be responsible for:

  • Review and reconcile customer accounts to ensure accuracy of invoices and resolve any discrepancies or disputes in a timely manner.
  • Allocate incoming payments to the correct customer accounts and reconcile discrepancies between payments received and outstanding invoices.
  • Prepare regular reports on the status of outstanding debts, cash flow projections, and key performance indicators for management review.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, such as sales teams and customer service representatives, to provide updates on account statuses and coordinate collection efforts.
  • Escalate unresolved payment issues or high-risk accounts to management for further action or decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with company credit policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations in all credit control activities.

Your Skills and Abilities

  • At least three (3) years experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work independently and with integrity
  • Communicate effectively and have a sense of urgency
  • Manage multiple stakeholders
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets
  • Ability to create and manage ledgers
  • Some knowledge of taxation

Nice to have but not required

  • Experience with Xero
  • Advanced knowledge of taxation
  • Experience working with Global Teams and multiple currencies
