Hi Sign Language Interpreters! :)

Come work with a local, woman, and therapist founded and run company! Ampersand Therapy is hiring a Sign Language Interpreter to provide services in the school setting for the rest of the 2024-2025 school year. We are looking for to hire for a part time position, about 6-7 hours/day.

We are proud to be founded by school-based therapists. We offer industry-leading wages for ASL Sign Language Interpreters, starting at $40/hour.

We also provide many levels of support including 1-1 mentorship for new graduates and teachers new to working in the special needs environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • The Sign Language Interpreter transliterates and interprets, through use of sign language, materials for the hearing disabled student. Facilitates communication between users and non-users of sign language.
  • Position begins ASAP thru the end of the school year with high possibility to extend to next school year

Qualifications and Skills

  • Certified by the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA), both written and performance in ASL OR
  • Passed the National Interpreting Certification
  • Graduate from an Interpreter Training Program preferred
  • Possess a high school degree or comparable equivalent
  • Thirty (30) semester credits or forty-five (45) quarter credits from a post-secondary institution at an accredited university, college, community college or business school
  • Demonstrated fluency in American Sigh Language (ASL), both voice-to-sign and sign-to-voice.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $40.00 - $55.00 per hour
