Job Description

One of our clients, a rapidly growing consumer product company, is seeking a Sales Representative to help market their products to new and existing accounts such as builders, contractors, showrooms, wholesalers, and developers. You'll be supported by a success-driven team as you sell our products in the Mid-Atlantic markets.
Open to remote in the following areas: Baltimore, Maryland and access area of the outer 495 Beltway North of Washington, DC

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maximize revenue opportunities through electrical distributors, showrooms, architects, designers, builders, and other key decision makers by calling on key clients and driving demand for products.
  • Work with Regional Manager to develop a forecast and implement a sales plan to deliver target goals.
  • Meet or exceed agreed-upon sales goals.
  • Maintain timely follow?ups on quotations, documenting wins and losses with available background information.
  • Monitor major projects in the quotation stage and take action to ensure specifications are held.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Regional Sales Manager regarding key projects and other key opportunities for growth.
  • Completing weekly/ monthly reports and special assignments as directed by the Regional Sales Manager
  • Lead and manage all key account activities and communications as well as develop new customer relationships.
  • Strategically grow existing customer base by identifying new opportunities and implementing a solution-based sales approach.
  • Implement all marketing and other programs, including new product introductions as required within the time frame allowed.
  • Cultivate new relationships and develop/enhance existing relationships to increase brand awareness.
  • Conduct research to identify and qualify prospective opportunities and partners.
  • Conduct product presentations and training.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Regional Sales Manager

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, with a minimum 5 years of outside sales experience, OR equivalent work experience of 8 years or more outside sales
  • Prior outside sales & negotiating experience working with builders/developers, electrical contractors & distributors is preferred.
  • Experience cold calling and breaking into new accounts is required.
  • Computer literacy working with Microsoft programs Excel and Word is a must.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are needed.

Education: BA/BS degree preferred, but not required.

Travel: Frequent day travel is required, but limited overnight travel.
